What is the LBGTQ population afraid of in a Trump presidency?

Exactly. Trump (reluctantly) picked Pence as his VP, and Pence is the head of his transition team. Pence believes in the laughable concept of 'conversion therapy' for gay people. I'm a middle aged mother of a gay son and I'm more concerned about a Trump presidency than he is. I just don't get that. I don't know what it will take for young people to realize just how dangerous these people are.

LGBT community should be more afraid of Mike "pray the gay away" Pence. He has a horrible record on LGBT issues.

These stories were used to support the idea that a Trump presidency is dangerous for transgender people. This has been reported by ABC, Mother Jones, and Pink News.

In fact, what is dangerous to the lives of trans people is these kinds of stories. They're unsubstantiated, but with suicide overall there is absolutely a contagion effect. The only indication that a Trump administration would in any way affect trans issues is that Pence said he believes the issue of trans bathroom access should be left up to the states... as it currently is. So these media outlets are encouraging angst and unfortunately, suicidal thoughts, by reporting on an issue that doesn't actually exist.

Irresponsible and disgusting. I voted HRC but this is the kind of liberal baseless panic that HAS to stop. This could actually be a matter of life and death. This is fear mongering.

Can anyone tell me what Joe Biden did the past 8 years? Yeah, nothing.

I think Trump was smart to pick Pence. It gets him votes from the loony Repubs he will never do anything for and once in office, it decreases his odds of an assisination attempt by a loony lib.

All of you realize that HRC did not support support marriage equality until 2013, right?

In 2000 she stated, "Marriage has got historic, religious and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman."

In 2003 she said, "marriage has a meaning that ... I think should be kept as it historically has been, but I see no reason whatsoever why people in committed relationships can't have ... many of the same rights and the same ... respect for their unions that they are seeking. And I would like to see that be more accepted than it is. ... I also think that we can realize the same results for many committed couples by urging that states and localities adopt civil union and domestic partnership laws."

By the Left's rules, all LGBTQ activists should be against Hillary Clinton. However, it would be ridiculous to base one's decision on these two comments. These are issues that evolve. I am confident the majority of our population will become more knowledgeable of LGBTQ issues and more tolerant.

The only reason she is now "for it" was because it was a Democratic pull. She is very religious. Trump? He doesn't give a crap.

Why do you find that to be misguided? Are you saying that Trump lied during his campaign about the things he would do to take away the rights of gay people?

I don't think he ever said that. I feel confident that Trump will not touch the rights gay people have earned over the past few years. Pence might be another story. But we're good with Trump and he has my full support, 100%.

Trump is rapidly going to get tired of being president and he's going to let Pence, who actually has experience governing, take over. Pence is a Cheney. He will have more power than the usual VP.

I don't think you know Trump's history well enough. He is not a delegator, he is a doer.

Trump isn't interested in the politics of making sausage, much less the hours of immersing himself in policy at the granular detail. He only wants to Make America Great.

Isn't Milo Yiannopoulos the Brietbart It Boy gay? Don't think LBGTQ is a problem with them.

Is that like "I have a black friend" ? Trump disagrees with Obergefell and has expressed hope that with scotus appointments gay marriage would be just a blip. And he chose Pence, ffs! I really don't understand how you could not understand the concern.

My 9th grader said the gay, bi and pansexual kids at school have said they think he'll line them up and kill them all, but clearly that's outrageous. Still disturbing to hear that kind of fearmongering.

A stacked supreme court can overturn gay marriage; a blind eye to the likes of the KKK open the door for hate crimes and persecution that will go unpunished.

That is so ridiculous!! We as a nation will not turn back. We will not embrace the kkk.

As for hate crimes. Personally I think they are unconstitutional. Why? You are prosecuting belief and even reasoning. Just prosecute the damn crime.

As for gay marriage. As Hillary said herself, she is for equal treatment and protection. I personally think the majority of Americans feel that too. I do. But it's not enough anymore. Various groups want more than that. They want you to agree, to sanction and to hold the same belief. And that goes beyond this particular issue.
