The statistic is actually 10% of babies are born of fathers not married to their mothers.
And the word is "cuckolded" the noun / verb is "cuckold" or "to cuckold" Shakespeare, innit. |
With dna, why would this be a issue? Are men this stupid? |
| You can DNA anyone, we did this to a friend's step child. There are great labs all over that sell dna kits, helpful so you know before going to court. |
| I always thought it happened to Prince Charles and Princess Diana. I have long suspected my friend's exW pulled this with their son. |
I don't see how it's about stupid or smart. Babies look like babies. Absent an obvious racial difference, you're not going to see strong family resemblance until later in most cases. Also, family resemblance is not always obvious. My daughter is definitely, 100% her father's daughter, but they look nothing alike. They don't have the same eyes, nose, lips, face shape, hair color, hair texture, etc. and though both both of them are white and Northern European looking, that's where the resemblance ends. As for why it's still an issue with DNA, I would imagine that they don't think they need to do a DNA test, because usually men don't suspect that their spouse is carrying a child they didn't father. |
yes, PEOPLE are this stupid. |
| The ass whipping that woild follow this discovery would be earth rending and epic. |

The cuckoldry rate in human populations is about 1%:
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/12/science/extra-marital-paternity-less-common-than-assumed-scientists-find.html?_r=0 One of the reasons that folks think it is so high is because of genetic sequencing that became available in the 90s. Researchers took that data and found that 10-30% of the results showed that husbands weren't the fathers of their wives' children. But that data was not from random samples -- it came from men who had strong enough suspicions about the paternity that they decided to get a DNA test done. Studies without that bias in data samples shows something more like 1%. |
Actually the statistic is 10% for those who seek a DNA confirmation. That's people who already have some doubts. It'll be far less for the population as a whole. |
+1 I believe their oldest son was fathered by Prince Charles, but the younger one...no way. I forget the name of the dude widely suspected to be Prince Henry's father, but if you look it up, the resemblance is uncanny. |
| What kind of heartless ahole do you have to be to reject a kid you raised as your own for 9 years? Yes, the woman was a liar and that's a horrible thing to do to someone you say you love, but that's not the kid's fault. Could a non-sociopath really look at the kid and say "oh, you're some other man's bastard so I'm not your dad anymore"? |
If you honest about the men you slept with and cared about who the actual father of your child is from the date of birth none of this would be happening 9 years later. Take responsibility for your person actions and accept you screwed up. |
|
| Yes but what about the love there between the child and the supposed Dad? Are you just a heartless $&@&? |
