Considering a second ear piercing....

I got a second piercing in just one ear. I can't commit to full trashy, I guess.

I haven't worn more than one earring in each ear since high school, and one second piercing closed over, but the other is still visibly pierced. I hate it. I think it looks trashy next to the pearl or diamond stud that I wear every day now.

OP was asking for opinions, I still stand by my opinion that its trashy. I'm okay with the label of "stick up my ass" BTW.

For those who have it do you still wear earrings in both holes? Do you still like it as you get older?
I did one ear because it was so painful but I never wear a second earring anymore. I don't think it looks professional.

No and no.

Don't do it.

It's OK but I can't see it adding anything to your appearance.

Seriously. So much repetition of "trashy." There is this mass terror on the board that someone might mistake you for poor OMG.

FYI, I have an upper ear cartilage piercing and a full sleeve tattoo, and yet I'm a successful professional. It is just body decoration.

Chill the fuck out, you status-obsessed overgrown sorority girls..

No, that's not it. There are plenty of trashy rich people, and many non-trashy poor people.

You are the one who is being a drama queen. Try dialing it back a bit. "Literally."

I have three holes in each ear. I wear small studs in two and small hoops or pears to work. I'll never be a part of the WASP set so it doesn't matter to me if others don't like it. I work for the Feds in a laid back office, no one cares.

Mind you, I live in a much more liberal place than DC. But I have a lot of respect for those who do what they want with their appearance and are still able to carry themselves professionally at work.

Same here, but I live in DC. I'm over 40 and in a senior role in a big firm. I am triple-pierced in one ear, single-pierced in the other. I have a friend with lots of tattoos who's a Congressional chief of staff.

Competence is what matters. People who spend time judging others for things like piercings and tattoos are, in my experience, pretty limited.

Mid-40s male here and I think it's tacky and classless.

It just doesn't matter at all. PPs who say they feel their extra piercings are trashy, I hate to tell you, but no one in the world, including your DHs cares in the slightest.

I have 2 holes in each ear, but my 2nd holes are both up in the cartilage (one halfway up my left, one at the top of my right). Had them since the 90s.

How trashy am I?
