Considering a second ear piercing....

DD who is now 16 is asking to get a second piercing and its totally out of the question because I think it looks trashy, and I totally regret ever doing it.

Interesting. I’m past 50 and stopped wearing the extra earrings probably when I was in my 30s, though I basically stopped wearing any earrings in any holes for a long time. I’m not a fan of multiple piercings on older women, I think it looks ageing.

BUT, my 19 year old got second piercings and I had not issue with it. That’s when I got my seconds and at some point I got a third in my left ear.

I guess I only think it looks a little trashy/hard on older women but I don’t judge anyone for wearing them, it’s just not for me. But for the young, enjoy it!

Offering a different perspective - I don’t wear earrings in the extra holes, but I love seeing the indent of the unused hole, it hints at a fun youth. I feel the same when I see other people with ear indents from having pierced ears in their youth [especially men] - they were edgy once! Hard to think something as tame as piercing an ear was edgy but that was the 80s/90s

I had 3 in each ear in the 80,s and one upper cartilage loved it then.. now in my 60,s with short grey hair my ear lobes feel like old pin cushion,s much regret I only wear one stud or hoop in each ear is a more classy look ..oh the things you did when younger .you think your so stylish and trendy .x

I have had mine for maybe 18 years and my BF has his ears double pierced as well. he has had his for maybe 8 years

My 16 year old has a triple piercing in each year and a a snake bite in the cartilage. She loves them. Some of her friends have more piercingd
