I am able to live in my house with no mortgage payments and no property taxes for the rest of my life.

I have a defined-benefit pension that would allow me to retire with 5mil at the age of 57.

We have enough money in savings to send our teenagers to college without loans.

We have $1.6M in retirement savings.

If disaster hits tomorrow, we are going to be ok.

We have worked towards this for many years with zero help from our families. It is a relief to be in this place.

My DH and I totally want to be like you and your spouse!!!!!
The first car I ever bought (3 years ago, the year of model and all! And I'm 34 years old! LOL!) will be paid off in January... as will my student loans from grad school! I'm super excited because that'll be another $400 total going RIGHT into investments/savings (we already max out our TSP and 401K and save as much as we can. We don't have kids yet but we want to move a little outside of the city so we can have some more space!)

Good job.

I was the highest ranked person in my peer group during our reviews last month (18 people). I got a $35k bonus (prior year's bonus was $22k) and an 8% raise (salary was 205k).

I'm single so I don't have anyone to tell this to. I'm so excited. I just paid off my $125k student loans in March, so after a loong time, I'm finally turning the corner.

It's really ridiculous how well-off I am.

I love you.

We have lots of money in the bank! More than some, less than others! No trust funds, no handouts from family. We just keep putting it in the bank and Saving, saving, saving. Husbands siblings keep asking for handouts, not us. I hope to be able to help our parents out someday AND send out kids to college. I was am also lucky that I have a choice in working or not, which to me, seems like the ultimate luxury.
