I am now credit card debt free and have 40K in savings. Moved us into a townhouse in one of the best school districts in the area. We take multiple international trips a year and am in a relationship with a wonderful, non-abusive man. I am so very grateful to be where I am today.

This is amazing!! Way to go!!

Wow, just incredible!!! Congratulations to you, this is an amazing accomplishment!

I was homeless on two occasions in my teens. Now I am a professional with advanced graduate degrees. I have a lovely little home that will be paid off in 10 years and a wonderful family filled with oodles of love. I will be working until I'm quite old in order to get my 3 kids through college, but I am grateful for the chance that they may start adulthood on firm ground. I am a truly lucky woman.

Just retired at 55 from the best job in the world, defined-pension paying me 100% of my final pay including COLA and lifetime medical & dental for wife and myself.

House almost paid off

$900,000. in savings and investments

All 3 kids put through college with no loans

Not a worry in the world assuming I stay healthy.

I bought a house at the bottom of the market in the worst neighborhood in DC three years ago. It has appreciated at least 100k. And I'm very much in love with my house! It's the best financial decision I've made ever.

I have a job that pays well and I love; with it, I can pay for the mortgage on a house in a good school system,, two cars, and DD to go to camp...We eat three meals a day, working AC, and at least 400 channels on TV!

It helps that I got lucky on the timing of buying the house...250K in '99, 700K in 2015.

Thanks pp! I'm the bragging pp. And I want to brag a little more: My house only cost 200k in 2011. And I'm crazy in love with it. I thought the honeymoon period would have ended by now, but nope! It's true love.
