I'm sure white people felt exactly the same way about Jews years ago as the basis for discriminating against them.

or when affirmative action was put in place in so many aspects of life. White people were discriminated against in favor of less qualified blacks....

Didn't black people have better things to do than obsessed with fighting against slavery?

Amen. I'm Asian and totally support affirmative action for URM. A major part of being an well-educated person is being exposed to and interacting with people of different backgrounds, experiences and/or viewpoints. I think the people suing don't understand what "holistic" means.

You're brainwashed. Asians need to score 140 higher than whites to get the same opportunity. Do you mean whites are also URM?
Obviously not. This is bloody racial discrimination!

Totally different.

The powers that be at Harvard at the time were all White. They didn't like so many Jews getting in so they changed the admissions criteria to reduce their numbers, as they are doing with Asians today.

AA was created by the majority White gov't to help URM.

When Harvard requires Asians to have higher scores than Whites, who are not URM, that is total discrimination, like what they did to the Jews back then.

PP is the type of asian that wishes she/he was white more than anything else in the world.

No kidding.

Sad news PP. White people don't really see asians as "people". They think Asians are ok as sidekicks and accessories but no more. They're creeped out by the idea of a whole campus full of Asians. They try to dress this fact up with PC language but that is what it really boils down to.

No college wants a campus full of any race. White, Asian, Black, whatever. They want diversity.

As long as that diversity means majority whites, and a few token of other races.

Harvard isn't majority white.

And I think that they should be gender blind. But that's not going to happen. White males have an easier time with admission than white females except at STEM colleges looking to increase female enrollment. Life isn't always fair even for the privileged. Get over it and get a grip.

yeah it's easy to say "get over it" when you're taking advantage of other people or treating other people criminally.

Holy shit. We're talking about Harvard admissions here. It's not the end of the world if you don't get into Harvard. It's not like the police are unfairly arresting/shooting you for your race. So what if Asians have a slightly lower acceptance rate to Harvard than there would be if they didn't try to build a balance class?
