I bet if there was no lottery and kids just went to their IB school or (if their parents had money) to a private this board would be a whole different animal.

MV PK3 has moved 9 spots. NINE!!

I almost want to shake those parents and say WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE SUCH AN AWESOME PLACE?

But then again, maybe they're moving, or going to like LAMB or YY or a closer school. But still!? MV is so great!

And I hope those 9 spots go to someone super excited about MV. I have no chance, but I'll wave to you from my spot in the high 300s.

Nah. The private school boards are nasty too. Only way to inject civility would likely be to eliminate anonymous posts.

Likely the 9 are in the 200s. If you know you have no shot and you get an offer elsewhere you have to take it.

How does the kool-aid taste? Some people value other things you know. If people are turning down MV they are likely getting options for just as equally, if not better schools. Schools where there is not a bullying problem so big that it requires a petition. We have friends leaving 2nd and 3rd grade this year because its not what it's cracked up to be.

This. This. This. So sorry about the culture of meanness on this site.

We aren't going to accept our spot. We just found out we're expecting and would love to have a school where we can use sibling preference. It is going to be tight to afford daycare and the aftercare prices at MV, then aftercare for two.

I drank the kool-aid this year and liked it enough to go back for more next year. I'll add that there's probably more bullying on this site than there is a MV.

You seem pretty angry for sometime whose "friends" kids were bullied. You're like the person asking for a marital counselor for your friend. If you're going to grind an axe at least don't pretend it's someone else's.

Mean I can't afford the aftercare for two kids.

But you'll have aftercare at all schools. Is Mundo Verde aftercare really so much more?

We were at MV earlier and aftercare was $100+ a month more than where we had our older child.
