Guys - ripped vs soft women?

Ripped women for sure

How about ripped in the legs, toned in the butt and arms, and soft in the chest?

Super soft.

The tush must be cushy.

Women think super toned looks good but it's not what men want.

I think it's similar for both men and women. I don't know any women that prefer a super ripped guy. I think the guy at 15% has the perfect balance. My guess is most men probably prefer the 20-22%, and 25% woman.

These threads always amuse me. I think women use them as an excuse not to do strength training.

The truth is that it takes a lot to get "ripped" (as in the top line of that thing above). But women use the "men don't like ripped women" as an excuse to not build any strength.

It takes a lot of strength training just to get toned. And I don't care how many anonymous people post on here -- all of the men I've ever been attracted to have preferred toned women over flabby women. You can be toned and still be feminine. And suggestion otherwise is bonk.

I'm not by any means "ripped," but I love doing strength training. I love having muscles and feeling strong. And I don't think it makes me any less feminine. If a guy doesn't find that attractive, then he's not the guy for me.

My husband seems pleased with my body. And he definitely seems even more pleased since I've added more strength training to my exercise regimen.

I tend to agree with you. It's not either/or - super ripped/lean or fat/flabby. Most people like balanced individuals, and that goes for both men and women. Fit, strong women with healthy body fat are highly desired.

Few people like super ripped, or flabby, regardless of men/women.

Women, ignore all people telling you that building muscle and being lean looks bad. Most people have no idea what they are talking about.

Women who look like amazon women have extremely (unhealthy) low body fat and are frequently on steroids. A normal women will only improve her appearance by adding some weight lifting to her workout. Healthy is always attractive.

Most guys I've known and know would prefer the 15 percent woman. But they'd date the 20-22 and the 25 and probably even some of the other ones. and if any women on there asked, they'd give the answer that got them in the least amount of trouble.

So, yeah, all of the women who insist that men always tell them they prefer "meat," does it not occur to you that they're telling you that to appease you? Seriously, how many husbands and boyfriends are going to tell their "soft" girlfriend/wife, "no, I prefer ripped, but I'll settle for you."

That said, it doesn't matter. you have the body you have and you do the best you can with it. do strength training because you'll feel better -- it will help your bone strength and energy level. Don't worry about being an object that men prefer, do what suits you and makes you feel good. If you like yourself better with curves and you don't care about feeling strong, then do that. Attraction isn't just about one aspect. Most people have an idealized preference, but what actually attracts them to individual people is the whole package. So a guy who prefers blondes might fall hard for a brunette because of all of the things put together that make her who she is.

But don't discourage other women or slam them for trying to get strong. That's been happening for far too long. And some women like physical activity. They like the strength. They like that it improves their performance in other areas. Let's not bring back the BS that female athletes are not feminine. We're just finally breaking through that.

WRONG.

I'm wrong b/c I like feeling strong? Whatever.

Important to note:

1) Exercise builds confidence. There's no question about that.

2) It's pretty universally agreed upon that confident people are more attractive.

I had an interesting conversation with a group of men about this recently. 3 straight men. 1 gay man. The gay man quipped that he was surprised by the guys who preferred cut, flat women like Kelly Ripa who resemble preteen boys. I agree. I think boobs and curves are feminine.
