+1 this is me.... every few months I buy face creams or makeup when I run out. No manis or pedis. |
Not being snarky but curious - what does the $200 a month for hair consist of? Do you cut and color it every month? Is this for a weave or something similar? |
| You guys sound cheap. No wonder everyone is ugly around here. |
I don't know about other women, but I am not into my looks that much. Having stated that, I wouldn't be called ugly either. I'm the one that posted I spend about $30 every 6mo on haircuts and no manis/pedis. I have medium length layered hair. It doesn't need styling much. I also don't cake my face with makeup. I wear a bit, but not like I'm ready for a photo shoot. I've been blessed with good genes, and I don't mind the little wrinkles around my eyes. Maybe you're just really unattractive and need a lot of maintenance, or maybe you just care way too much about the way you look. As long as a person is clean, I really don't care how you look. Are you the same person who posted a while ago about how some people should not wear open toe shoes without pedis? That OP got pretty flamed on there. It was pretty funny. |
| $150 a month on hair. Almost nothing on everything else (like $5 if you spread it out to a monthly expense). |
No, not me. I don't get mani, pedis ever. I spend on my hair. |
| Never considered myself high-maintenance until reading this post. I'd love to see how some of you look. |
Me too |

haircut is about $360/yr ($90 incl tip 4x/year)
pedicures about $175/yr ($35 incl tip 5x/year (once per month during summer months)) manicures about $45/year ($15 incl tip 3x/year) shampoo/conditioner = I have no idea so I'll throw in $20/month to get to an even number, although that is probably very high (just store-bought stuff) I don't get facials and only use mascara and lip balm/gloss. So maybe about $600/yr or approximately $50/mo |

Hair is $150/quarter (cut and highlights)
I do my own nails, so maybe $10/month for a pumice and a new bottle of nail polish I wear tinted lip balm, mascara, blush, and eyeliner. Probably spend $120/year on this (mid-range brands you buy at Sephora) I don't get facials, but I use a drugstore scrub and mask twice a week ($20/month) I do get a brazilian and eyebrow wax every six weeks or so ($80) |
It's not about how much money you spend. It's about how much time you spend putting yourself together. For example, I know a woman who spends 1hr+ getting herself ready in the morning. But you wouldn't think she does because she doesn't wear *that* much makeup. I think she spends a lot of the time on her hair and putting creams on. I think I spend about 20 to 30min getting ready in the morning, but that includes taking a shower and drying my hair (I wash and dry my hair everyday. I have an oily scalp). Makeup and body cream takes about 10min, hair about 15min. I don't put any products in my hair. |

Wow. I thought I was a minimalist! Clearly I am not....
$200/year on makeup $150-$300/every two months on skin care products $45/every 8 weeks on a haircut $25/ every 4 weeks on a pedicure $900/ every 5 months on Botox I don't do facials, hair dye (yet), or manicures. |
If you need a bunch of artificial intervention to look "pretty," you probably weren't that pretty to begin with. Or, when you take the mask and fakeness off. I spend more on a gym membership, or running shoes & workout things than I do on "beauty" things. I'd venture I look better without any makeup and going for a run, than some of these ladies who spend hundreds of dollars a month on hair and makeup.

| Roughly $200 to $250 per month. I get color every 5 weeks and cut every 10 weeks. I get about 6 pedicures a year. I buy expensive skin care products (for example, $200 for moisturizer that last a long time. I also bought a Clarisonic) but don't spend much on make-up. I think my conditioner is pricey too ($60). No facials, no waxing, no Botox. |

I probably spend about $15 to $20 per month, which would include averaging out the cost of me getting 1 hair cut per year (my birthday present to myself every year) which costs about $80, including tip.
I do my own toe nails, and keep them perfect looking. I don't paint my fingernails, but just keep them short and nice looking. I color my own hair at home. I don't go for facials or waxing or botox or anything like that. I do use an eye cream, but it's not all that expensive and lasts a long time. The thing I buy most is Orchids Oil for my hair, but again, it's not really that expensive. I don't wear a ton of makeup, usually just some brow liner, maybe some eyeliner, and on special occasions I'll wear some eye shadow. |
