Wtf

I'm the PP. What is there to "WTF" about? It comes with the territory in terms of what I do professionally and what I enjoy personally. I have zero debt. I have a ton of money in savings that I do not touch and own investment properties. I'm very responsible and I live well beneath my means. But looks mean A LOT in my line of work and I enjoy taking care of myself.

(Also, I'm childless and single after a devastating miscarriage, so I'm only responsible for myself)

New poster. I want to know what you look like! Bet you're gorgeous. I'm all for upkeep

Thanks! I'm a dead ringer for Vanessa Marcil, who played Brenda Barrett on General Hospital. In another thread on DCUM, I shared a story about when she and I accidentally bumped into each other in Hawaii some years ago. We both did a double take because we couldn't believe the resemblance!

wow, I wish you were my mother or sister and you could come whip me into shape!

Haha, I had to learn much of it on my own due to a terrible relationship with my own mother growing up. If you need advice or a pen-pal motivator / buddy, honestly just say so, and I'll give you my email. It isn't easy and it was tough to always motivate myself or figure out who to go to, so I'm more than happy to share any info I can to make it easier on someone else. No need to go through the same mistakes I made!

I would estimate I spend about $100 to $150 per year.

I'm the PP that does one haircut per year. My hair is stick straight and all one length (no layers) and grows very slowly. Thus no need to get it cut very often. A plus is my haircuts are very cheap, since they are only trimming a few inches off of all one length hair.

Same here - another 1 haircut per year person with the same type hair.

$45 every two months on hair
$0 on make up
$50-75 every six weeks in summer on pedicures- at least that is always the plan
$1000 annual weekend getaway with college friend to spa.

Interesting thread! In my career, and at my age (50), I feel obliged to spend a fair bit on keeping myself up (with hair coloring, blow-outs, skin care, etc). I don't love wearing make-up, but I look a lot more put-together when I do, and so I do every day.

In watching Hillary's speech last night on TV, I was impressed at how beautiful she looks at age 68. Out of necessity because of her public role, she clearly spends a fair bit on her hair, makeup, suits, and skin treatments. It has paid off! She looks very put together.

I spend $185 (including tip) every 5 weeks on haircut and coloring.

I get my fingernails done about once a month, along with eyebrow waxing, which is $45.

I spend $60 including tip on pedicure every once in a while.

Makeup as needed, no set amount.

No regular facials, massages, etc.

LMAO!

Hillary desperately needs under eye filler and Botox. I think she looks awful. Those bags!

Wow, I think of myself as pretty low maintenance but not compared to the women on this board I guess! $200 on hair every 3 mos, $50 on a mani-pedi once a month (do my own nails in between). Maybe $20/month on makeup/creams/hair products (I use drugstore brands for everything except my brow pencil and foundation). I used to get regular bikini waxes but gave it up bc I had so much irritation.

Stop. She's looks good for her age.

Every 3 weeks - $45 for haircut.

I do my own waxing (brazilian included), microdermabrasion, facials, hair color, highlights and lowlights, skin treatments, teeth whitening, whole body scrub, deep conditioning of hair, oil treatments, mani, pedi. So, maybe around $250 for all supplies in a year, including makeup etc.

I am cheap because I spend $600 a month on housecleaners and so I have to save on beauty stuff. I however have fantastic skin, hair, hands and feet - and I look very well groomed. I don't get my nails done because I prefer to put a simple polish on them and I am not a fan of acrylic nails on me. I cannot carry it off.

Didn't she have plastic surgery when she ran against Obama? If so, she will always look better than if she had never gone under the knife?

What do you use to do your at-home Microdermabrasion? I'd love it if I could do that at home!
