Healthiest option for pit stop at McDonalds?

I'm thinking of just doing the grilled chicken sandwich and simply eat the chicken (not the bun). I'm hesitant to eat a salad from mcdonalds...don't want the runs.

Makes sense to me. Also good on you for not pitching the fit. Good karma will come back around to you.

I think portion size is key. If you get a hamburger happy meal with ketchup/mustard, you are doing OK calorie wise. These days you get maybe 5-6 fries in a happy meal anyway. I'm less satisfied by the bunless grilled chicken personally. But I've done it.

How the hell did you end up in a van with a bunch of people who want McDonald's?

Okay, this is just REALLY funny. Thank you. And good luck OP. Seriously, I would go for the biggest cheeseburger and have fries. It is one day out of your life.

Anything without sauces and dressing. Yogurt parfait, plain burger or chicken, salads no dressing. Go for protein, it's more filling. They have apple slices too.

You sound like you have an unhealthy relationship with food.

Jesus effin Christ, have a Big Mac, fries and a chocolate shake. Live a little.

The yogurt has way too much sugar and gross fruit.

Grilled chicken sandwich. But I love the fries, so splurge on that.

What did you get OP?

You sound like you have problems, PP. Totally reasonable to not want to eat crap from McDonalds when you're trying to eat healthier and/or lose weight. Not wanting a Big Mac =/= an unhealthy relationship with food.

I disagree. it is not just that it is all very high calorie, it is that the food is shit. So "spending" a lot of calories for food that tastes like crap is not worth it.

I get a hamburger- I think it is ~250 calories. Maybe the food is crap for my body, but a paltry 250 calories of crap is not going to hurt (IMO).

Can you convince your fellow travelers to stop at Wendy's instead? They can have their burgers and fries, and you can get a baked potato.

FYI the southwestern salad with grilled chicken comes with a packet of dressing AND dressing already on it. I forgot to ask for no dressing, because I thought that the packet was the only dressing. Also, it comes with dorito chips on it, so you may want to ask them to not include that as well.
