| White. I rub the bar of soap on my butt crack and then directly onto my face. No need for a washcloth. |
| white. loofah for me, washcloths for kids (very little - 3 and baby). |
| Who says white people don't use one? I have one for the sink and one for the shower. I don't know any white people who don't use wash clothes. What a strange thread. |

I'm white. I lather between my hands, then rub my hands wherever needs cleaning. Rinse, do next area.
SIL and MIL are also white and they use a washcloth every time, and when bathing the kids. I think it's similar to how you wash dishes, load the dishwasher, make the bed, etc. don't most of us just do it the way we were raised? FWIW, DH used a washcloth when I met him, but no longer does. Not sure why, it's not like I cared that he did. |

White. Just use bar of soap for body and a
Clarisonic on my face. Husband uses a loofah. |

Microbiologist here. No washcloth. Hands are ideal. Everything is full of soap, and all skin is scrubbed, so no contamination can happen. You may not be aware of the teeming multitudes of bacteria that reside in your washcloths. Do you use a fresh one each time you wash? If so, no problem. And no need to wash your bottom with a different washcloth either, unless you are a very poor wiper. Soap and mechanical friction takes care of everything. At the end of the shower or bath, there are no enteric bacteria on your hands. |

Perhaps the association is with eye color, rather than race?
I have brown eyes and I use a poof. I think washclothes are gross, because they hang wet in the shower and breed mildew. |
| White. No. |
And then I hope you leave your ass soap for your guests to use! |
|
We use loofahs here. Where do they fall in your classification scheme?
We're white btw. |
|
Black.
On my body: I use a loofah, sponge, or just soap w/ little beads in it on my body, with shower gel or a soap. I also like the Salux cleansing cloths. Genital Area: Gets special attention. I use a regular washcloth primarily but sometimes just a cleansing soap and my hands. I find using a washcloth helps to exfoliate and prevent bumps from shaving/waxing,etc and its not the same as just lathering and rinsing, especially if it is hairy down there. Face: I mix it up - clarisonic, but usually just hands and cleanser. Sometimes a face brush, sometimes a wash cloth, sometimes pond's cleanser and tissue off. My husband (black) used to just use soap, no washcloth, everywhere. But now he uses a washcloth on his genital area too, and the poofy loofah sponge things for his shower gel on his body. He has also started to exfoliate his face and his skin looks a zillion times better. Everyone has different types of skin so I imagine that some things that work for one may or may not work as well for another. |
| I smoke meth and can't remember what soap is... |
| No. White. |
| There's an old Chapelle Show skit that touches on this. |
| AA and yes. Taught White ex-husband to use washcloth. He said he thought they were for decoration! |
