UPS SurePost is SLOW!!

This is what happens when conservatives strangle funding. Service declines, everybody complains, and this gives conservatives a platform for further cutting funding or even privatizing.

Everybody wants nail delivered. But nobody wants to pay for a system that also delivers to remote locations in Alaska or other public goods.

In fact, UPS and FedEx started to use USPS for a final destination that brings in nightmare!!! They use SurePost and SmartPost were very unreliable because of infamous USPS' performance. In the past, Amazon did a great job on delivery and it was faster and reliable service. Not anymore, because of USPS. I do not understand why both FedEx and UPS to use the broke system of USPS. I discovered when it delivery from Tennessee to Laurel, MD (UPS' final destination) since last Sunday then arrived next day! That was great then today, UPS kicked my package to USPS in Landover, MD and stuck there until this coming Friday, 3 days delayed.

USPS tends to dump any package outside unprotected from rain and ruined it. Both UPS and FedEx tend to warp the package into water proof. I was very angry and USPS ruined $800 dollars inside a soaked package. I had to call a company about it and they were upsetting and reshipped through FedEx after I had to put a damaged package into a new package to return the factory for replacement with huge loss days plus aggravation.

In fact, it does not make save money but more delays and more chance to see damaged package even USPS tends to put packages at wrong house addresses many times!!!

It is time to raise our voice against both SurePost and SmartPost system. Let USPS out of business will be better for everyone because it totally broke a system and we, taxpayers bailed them several times.

USPS use poor people with a contract that force them inhumane behavior and use their vehicles, no uniform that threatens our safety like a strange person to the house even no badge worn. Also, USPS does not pay for their benefits included health insurance.

Suggestion: write to your congress and bring up this issues.

Thank you

One day, I heard the mail come through the slot and opened the door while the mail man was still there. He admitted that he didn't even have the package in his vehicle. In other words, they weren't even trying to deliver the packages. We had one mailman who was good, but the rest were awful.

When I lived in OT, our house was the very last one on the mail lady's route so our mail slot had a sticker she had to scan to prove when she was finished with that route. Hence we would hear the bar scanner and know our mail was there. We caught her several times just dumping all the mail she had left for the route in our mail slot. We would get mail for all our neighbors and often for people who didn't even live in Alexandria or Virginia. She never even looked to see if it matched our address, she just gave us all the left over mail. It was a nightmare. The post office manager didn't care.

When I logged in at work yesterday, there was a message from Stamps.com that the USPS increased their First Class prices. However, I also see that delivery times changed as well.

I'm in charge of all of our shipping accounts at work, so I logged in to see what was up since I didn't remember getting a notice about the change beforehand. And now, USPS Priority to most locations is 3 days, NOT 2 any longer. USPS Priority Express is now 2 days, NOT 1 day like it used to be.

For example, we had a customer in CA buy an item and select USPS Priority, which had he ordered last week to San Fran, it would have been 2 day delivery. Yesterday, it said 3 days. And First Class, which only costs $2.77 is also 3 days delivery. Why should people pay more for Priority when First Class is getting it there at the same time and cheaper?? Fail.

We used to be able to mail things to our Richmond VA office and they would be delivered next day. Now, Priority is 2 day delivery and First class is 2 day delivery.

Yup. USPS is required to prefund retirement accounts, and no one wants to pay more to have mail delivered, and no one wants to have the government subsidize mail delivery.

And USPS is required to deliver mail to everyone. FedEx and UPS often contract with USPS to deliver items to places that are on unprofitable routes (very rural, hard to get to).

I'm not in OT or even Alexandria, but this exact same thing happened to us in VA. We are one of the first few houses at the beginning of the end of her route. We noticed that if the weather was bad or she was running late, she'd distribute all of the neighborhood's mail into the first 3 homes mailboxes and leave. We'd then have to finish her job by distributing the mail to the neighborhood. I called the post office and the person I spoke with told us if it was that big of an imposition (ha!) then we could just write WRONG ADDRESS on the mail and leave it for her to pick up the next day.

The mailman we have now is better, but instead of leaving notices for packages, he places them in clear bags and hangs them on our mailbox. I've had packages stolen twice and once the company wouldn't replace the item because the tracking showed someone had signed for it. Again, the post office manager didn't care that an employee was fraudulently signing and leaving packages.

I ordered something from Patagonia. Their "free shipping" is Sure Post. It has been 2 weeks and the package has still not been delivered. I will never select Sure Post again if given the choice. "Free Shipping" is no good if it is by Sure Post. UPS, please stop this practice!!!

The old Pony Express was a faster than packages delivered by surepost! POS service!!!
