USPS is required to prefund retirement accounts, and no one wants to pay more to have mail delivered, and no one wants to have the government subsidize mail delivery. And USPS is required to deliver mail to everyone. FedEx and UPS often contract with USPS to deliver items to places that are on unprofitable routes (very rural, hard to get to). [/quote]
