Did you get it back? |
| Nope, I gained 10 lbs when I weaned. |
| No, gained weight when I weaned. Good for you, OP. |
No. Not until BFing DC2. |
| Weaning = 15 lb gain for me. |
| yes there are alot of threads on here about losing weight after pregnancy and tons of people say the last 5 lbs didn't come off until they finished BFing. true for me too. |
This is me, too, losing the last of the weight when I weaned, and not regaining it until I had my second. I almost feel like I gained more fat when I started breastfeeding my second than I had during the pregnancy. |
| I was getting excited to wean until I read the last few posts. |
Yes, I did gain fat. |
| Thanks, everyone. I was underweight to begin with so I really wasn't expecting to lose more. I actually thought the caloric expenditure of breastfeeding was contributing to being underweight and that I would gain a little when I weaned. This is so strange. |
| Bitch please. |
| really? |
|
I have been slightly underweight since having my second child. With both kids I lost a lot of weight breastfeeding, and with the first went about 5 pounds below my pre-baby weight. I gained it back and got back to normal, healthy weight after weaning. With my second, my BMI is hovering at just below healthy weight and I weaned over a year ago. Have had thyroid checked etc., all is normal. Dr. said babies just may have changed my metabolism.
FWIW my mom was always super tiny and then her metabolism slowed at 40 so I expect the same. She is still not overweight but has to watch what she eats much more carefully now and is always trying to lose 5 pounds. |

| Oh, shut up. You win for the most annoying thread ever. NO, not everyone has the fat and belly magically fall off, whether at weaning or any other time. Duh. Did you really need to post a thread to confirm that? Just look at the 500 threads about difficulty losing the baby weight. Or maybe just use some common sense. |
