| What mag/cal/D supplement do you recommend? |
I just got whatever from the drugstore, it is the magnesium oxide, which is the cheapest kind. I should go online and get a better brand. I've just stuck with what I have because once I started in on the magnesium, the change was dramatic. It is most noticed in my sleep. I've been an insomniac for years, and literally with my first mag pill my sleep problems were cured and I instantly came off sleeping pills. I would bet that those of you with D problems have sleep problems and are exhausted all the time. You are probably so fatigued, but still can never get a restful night sleep, which makes it worse. I bet you wake up feeling like hell and consume caffeine to just make it through. |

^^my point is getting magnesium will help your body absorb D.
Also, magnesium is what pulls calcium out of your blood and into your bones. Guess what happens when you have too much calcium floating in your blood that never makes it to your bones? Calcification of you arteries. EVERTYING is fortified with calcium (milk, bread, cereals) so people have an excess of calcium that is unavailable due to not having magnesium to process it. Think of magnesium as the transportation mechanism. Without out it, the vitamins go nowhere and the calcium floating around in your bloodstream is dangerous in the long run. So, if you already have a high calcium diet, skip the supplements for calcium, you might be getting enough calcium, but DO take magnesium. |
| This is wild. I found out I have a low vitamin D level (19!!). I have had insomnia and other issues. I actually didn't even think insomnia was from vit D deficiency but anyway..I have been taking 5000 for about a week and just remembered that for the last two nights I have slept through the night..first time in years. Wow!! Damm I should have been taking vitamin D all along!! |
Thank you. Good info. |
Glad you find it helpful. Magnesium has literally changed my life. I sleep like a rock. I have no problem getting a SOLID uninterrupted 8hrs of sleep each night. Even on those late nights where I get 5hrs, it is incredible the difference in how deep I sleep, the quality is something I have not known for 2 decades. This has impacted my life in so many ways...I have the energy for my 6AM work outs, I'm more productive (and happy!) at work, my mood us uplifted, and I don't feel fried at 8PM. |
