| $400/week? Damn, how is she living off of that? You should be ashamed, OP. What's her name? She can come work for me. I'll make sure she doesn't qualify for food stamps. |
Maybe they won't accept your child. Why did you apply? |
| You'd be amazed how resourceful a person who gets by on 400 a week can be. And certainly some people get full or nearly full rides. No, i don't think it's odd for her to apply at all. I think it's odd that you think that way, though. |
| Frankly, OP, I would bet anything that her child would add more to the diversity, interest and richness of the class than yours would. |
Is that a problem? Then the nanny would probably want to get another job, which seems like a the best scenario here. |
| -a. 'like the best scenario.' |
Are you paying minimum wage, OP, or less? You should be ashamed of your selfishness. Tell the poor nanny that if her kid gets in, you'll foot the bill. |
| I caution people that this is almost certainly a fake post, designed to provoke outrage/hysteria/bring out the worst in people. I reported the thread to the moderators. |
| Good for her! |
And . . . again. It interests me that people want to comment on an ersatz post. |
| You might want to look up "ersatz" before you use it again. |
| OP here. Again, I'm not saying she should not apply for her child to go there. I just wondered how she would manage with all the extras that she may have to pay. I told her I wouldn't mind talking to the public school (great school btw) to allow her child to go there and she refused since she really wants private school for her kid. She works 4 hours a day for me and I pay her $400 a week. I also give her paid leave since we to away almost 2 months of the year. She gets all holidays, snow days off plus a Holiday and birthday bonus so I think I pay her fairly. |
Why would the nanny want to get paid more and have to lose food stamps, free tuition and free healthcare? |
$20/hr for how many kids? above the table or below? |
