I shower in the evening and again in the morning bc atvnight I have sex and I breastfeed ( not at thecsame time of course). I find thst I need to wash away the smell of sour milk and sex.
I also use a specific type of body wash that wakes me up in the morning. After my morning shower I feel freash and clean andcready to conquer the world. |
| I take a quick shower to rinse off before bed and then take a proper shower in the morning. I tend to run warm at night and feel gross in the mornings. Plus, I have curly hair and if I don't want to look like I just stuck my finger in an outlet, I need to wash it in the mornings. |
| I'm American and have long hair that takes a while to dry. I shower at night. I like to go to bed clean. I do not shower in the morning. My husband showers in the morning because his hair is a disaster if he doesn't. Think a lot of people shower n the morning to wake themselves up, due to habit or blow dry and style their hair. |
| I shower in the morning, rarely at night. My hair looks horrible after I sleep on it, and my face is very very oily. Basically, I wouldn't look presentable if I didn't shower in the a.m. |
+1 unless I live my life in a ponytail, I need to wash it every morning. |

At least we shower.
I can remember visiting relatives in Europe who showered once a week, yet when they visited the States, they were in the shower EACH morning for at least 30 minutes. Why do you care so much? You're in the land of opportunity. Shower when you like.

I started showering in the morning at puberty so my hair was good for the day. Otherwise it was too oily after sleeping on it. The habit just stuck.
I will shower at night as well after a hot sweaty day. Or I will also shower at night after having sex. So there are probably 2-3 days a week I take two showers a day. Even More in the summer. |
| for me, its the messy sex. and I'm a woman, so cleaning really is necessary or I'll attract stray men and dogs all day. Also, I need to do something with my hair, as I'm just not into the bed-head look, and am just not ready to shave it all off like a man. |
| My husband has to shower every morning or his hair and skin are too oily. I take a quick shower every day in the summer but only wash my hair every third day. Its super curly and if I washed it every day it would be so dry! |
| I have curly hair, if I sleep on it (especially wet) it looks simply terrible in the morning. Hence, morning shower necessary or my hair looks terrible. |
Yup, all my life I've take 2 showers daily..... |
| How can your hair ever look good if you don't wash and dry it when you get up? |
|
I'm an American and I shower at night. It saves time in the morning, and my hair is better off if I sleep on it at night (especially with this humidity).
Of course, I have AC. If I didn't have AC and got sweaty overnight I'd probably be showering in the mornings and then using 5 different conditioners. |

Why? To feel completely fresh and clean, to wake up, and to have my hair look good (sans cowlicks) as I face the day. Some days in the summer (like right now) I'll take a cool shower before bed, but I won't wash my hair. I think many of us here have white collar jobs where we don't get too grimy during the day.
Does that answer your question, OP? It's a silly one anyway. |

I work for a international company and have to do trade shows all over the world and HOLY SHIT, the body odor at some of these shows-especially France and Germany is overwhelming (dont' get me started on India, Malaysia, Dubai, and Cairo....that is just a whole other level of odor, that I'd like to just forget). I feel like the Europeans are clean (unlike the above other areas), but their BO, it is just like they don't use deodorant. The business suits and the lack of A/C, the smell can bring tears to my eyes.
For me, I do shower in the morning, I normally have sex with my DH and don't exactly want to go into the office smelling "ripe". In the summer, I usually shower and rinse off before bed. Don't most people? I thought that was the norm? Seems from the responses it is. So WHY do Americans shower twice a day? |
