I hate my body.

Hmmmph. I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs and I hate my body too. Does anyone in their late 30s after two kids really look at their body naked and say 'damn girl, you look goooood'? I've backed out of the room since 2008 - just in case DH thinks my butt still looks good, I don't want to lose that mental image.

Protein poster here:

Breakfast 1 egg plus 3 whites is about 15 g pro.
post breakfast cottage cheese about 15g
or tuna fish and apple mixed with low-cal miricle whip...I love that and yes, it's odd. 20g for 3 oz
lunch; lunch meat if picked correctly: 4oz about 20p grams
snack: string cheese and apple (8g p)
dinner: either shrimp or chicken breast.
shrimp: 3oz = about 20 gr

For fiber grams I found I HAD to eat beans; one serving a day. I like beans. It's got a little protein in it too.

if you google "protein grams" and food name, you get the basic facts. Same with fiber. FYI

See, the thing is, to reach these goals, you have to eat a lot and often. I agree with poster about your changing your workout. If you eat enough P, your muscles will grow and eventually your body will firm up. It takes time...

Damn, OP, that body gave you a baby! Love that body! Go to the pool and I guarantee you won't see one perfect body. Remember every photo you see in mags has been photoshopped. I stopped reading Shape when I heard that even they photoshopped their covers. And if a model or actress with her exercise and diet and still can't make the cover of Shape with her natural body, who can?
It took me 2 years after the birth my my last child to get the body back to an acceptable (to me) weight. And I still don't really like the view from behind. And my stomach still pudges out a bit. Make peace with what you have. Be thankful you got a child from that body, that you have two healthy legs to walk up stairs, etc etc.

I eat a healthy diet, low-carb, minimal processed food, count calories, and workout with strength training.

I just have a gross body anyway. And I hate it. the 100g protein suggestion is one i HAVEN'T tried. if anyone else has innovative suggestions, I'd love to hear then.

It seems strange that, if you're doing a progressively more challenging strength routine, using free weights not just the "weight machines," your body remains flabby. When you say you've done all those things for years, it makes me think you might be in a workout rut, and what was hard years ago is no longer challenging your body. The only thing that makes a difference is constantly challenging your body. Personally, I did the weight machine and cardio combo at the gym for years and in recent years have been disgusted by my own flabby body and bad cellulite. I started working with a trainer about a month ago and my workouts with him are light years harder than what I was doing on my own. I'm starting to see my muscles grow and tighten. Do you work with a trainer currently?

I know you want innovative suggestions but aside from a clean diet with plenty of protein, following a challenging exercise program, and burning more calories than you consume daily, I'm not sure there's much else.

I"m 5ft5in and 130 when not expecting. I'm about 150 now and just this morning my DH grabbed my ass and told me how great it was (and said something off-color). Now, i haven't seen YOUR ass but there's the possibility that your DH might like yours too...just sayin'. Give them enough sex and they see you through beer goggles...or that's my theory.

OP, it doesn't sound like you want to hear what everyone is telling you. The pp is right that it's all about diet and exercise. If it's not working for you then you need to change something. A trainer is a really great suggestion if you can afford it. I've dropped 3 sizes, but only 15lbs over the past 6 months with 2 training sessoins/week and cardio classes 3-4 days/week. I've chagned my diet somewhat but not drastically. I do drink about a gallon of water/day and eat the level of protein suggested earlier. I have noticed a huge difference in muscle tone and fat loss even though my weight hasn't dramatically dropped.

If you're not seeing the changes than your workout is not working for you any more. People that keep the toned bodies change their workouts from time to time. You also might be eating too little.

OP, are you nursing? I kept on quite a bit of weight while I was still nursing. I didn't mind the weight as I was so grateful my body could produce the milk that made my baby grow.

I am completely legit. Just saying because the PP was dead wrong. It IS possible.

Um-- the PP's question was a rhetorical one. "Does anyone in their late 30s after two kids really look at their body naked and say 'damn girl, you look goooood'?" Well, logically, of course there are plenty of women, including you, who enjoy the sight of their naked middle aged selves in the mirror. It was a rhetorical question meant to provide some support to the OP. Nobody cares that you are 5'7 and 120 pounds.

Maybe try to eat out only once a month or every three weeks? That might help. But remember:no one else has the same body as you. So as long as you are healthy,be happy.
