How often do you give your kids- Oscar Meyer Lunchables?

My kids don't like them.

Never. I have never had one either, and I actually have never even noticed them in the store

I've never bought one so my kids (3 and 5) haven't had one yet.

I like crappy food occasionally (I like McDonald's, for instance), but something about these just says not fit for human consumption. So never.

My kids love them but they're expensive. So now I make my own. Some cut up turkey and cheese, some crackers, a juice box and a few cookies.

This is my opinion as well.

Never, but as a PP's kids, mine are also young at 3 and 5. Plus we're vegetarian and have nut allergies, so we have to watch what we eat carefully.

Never. You're joking, right?

I remember as a kid when these first came out and we thought they were so awesome--and back then, it was just ham/turkey, cheese and crackers. My mom used it as a lazy lunch for us from time to time.

My oldest in headed to K in the fall, but I don't think we'll be doing Lunchables. Aside from the sodium and lack of nutrition, they're kind of expensive for what you get. And we eat a TON of McDonald's, so not some health nut over here.

I feel the same way although my kids have had them once or twice. On top of being expensive and not really food, there is so little in them that you still have to send a lunch, they are basically a snack.

DC loves the chicken nugget ones. He buys lunch during the school year, but he eats them 4 days a week during the summer. He also likes the make your own pizza and sub sandwiches. We don't get the cheese and crackers much, as they usually come back home with the lunch box. How are they any different than deli meat and cheese?

vegetarian? sounds like your kids are malnourished . It's basically child abuse to with hold meat for children under 14.

I am not a health "nut" by any means and i let my kids eat treats, etc. but I draw the line at lunchables. I'm pretty proud to say I've never bought one (my kids are 8 and 5) and I never will. I do the same as a PP posted: I give my kids some cut up turkey, cheese, crackers, hummus, and a yogurt and call that a homemade lunchable. My kids will still ask for them if they go food shopping with me but it's more for show than anything b/c they know I'll never budge on that. This is the article that another PP referred to where the inventor of lunchables talks about what they had to do to make them profitable: i.e. make the nutrition content horrendous. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/24/magazine/the-extraordinary-science-of-junk-food.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0

My kids have never had Lunchables. They never eat luncheon meat. One child refuses to eat crackers. I am not against lunchables but my kids wouldn't eat anything contained in them.

*CRAZY ALERT!!* There is no reason to eat meat, protein can come from other sources. I eat meat but have a 6 year old who refuses to eat it. As long as he gets protein, it's fine! Take a nutrition class, lady!
