FARMS

This wasn't to all white people?

"There are so many stable white Americans taking advantage of these programs as well that really don't need it as if you "high/SES/whites" haven't benifited from enough fucking free labor from AA. You know what I mean by that? This nation was built on the backs of slaves for free labor for a long damn time! You stole this land from natives and used others to build you big houses to sit your lazy asses in for years!"

Oh really? I guess somebody could be generous and acknowledge that you excluded low-SES whites. But it's still directed at a lot of white people who don't deserve it.

Y'all make comments like that then when a AA is defensive about it suddenly they have a "chip on their shoulder"! Give me a break. It wasent supposed to be a history lesson. I'm sick of haveing to read some of these post and just take it! Stop with the bias comments and maybe you wouldn't recieve such responses.

Gee I got the impression that the poster who referred to "code for AA", was an AA who was annoyed that some might think it is code for AA.

I know I do not[u] think FARMS is code for AA since it really can be any kid. Some of the posters here really need to get out of DC once in awhile. Additionally I would not assume that there are no white kids who qualify for FARMS in DC.

Really? Then piss on me and call it rain. An African American would have either specified it or just not have mentioned it at all. For that matter they would have cleared it up on this thread by now if that's the case.

White, educated family here. Our kid gets free lunch because we are both unemployed. Savings are holding out, but we have no income at the moment. You probably chat with me at pickup and think I'm a SAHM by design, and my phd having husband is supporting my life of leisure. You don't know that I'm putting on a happy face for my kid after another depressing day of job hunting.

Sweetie your right and if I offended the white people who didn't deserve it, I apologizes sincerly that's not my intention. I'm just so sick of reading these posts and all you see is: "So how many AA-low-SES attend?" Or continuous racial comments and I can only assume its written by white people! This forum is supposed to be here to discuss what the best schools are or options for parents not one class of parents warning other parents of the social status and race of the population. And the saddest thing is I probably know some of these people or have at least shook hands with them and it pisses me off!

I thought what this poster meant is that on this forum, people talk about avoiding schools with high numbers of FARM kids, and that is just code for avoiding living in an area with a high-minority population. I have seen at least one person on here say that outright.

We all know that in DC, FARMS means mostly black kids. In rural West Virginia, it probably means white kids and in Arizona it's probably mostly Hispanic kids. Don't be ignorant, you live here and (presumably) you know something about the demographics of the city you live in and the issues facing your fellow citizens.

Check this out. I do take in the account that we have people like this on here!

What ever it means, and yes I do live here, we don't have to keep associating race with status or acronyms. At least try act civilized knowing that this site is for "Urban Moms and Dads" not "Urban white/black/ect Moms and Dads". Anyone is going to get offended if there is constant verbal slights associated with random comments. That's ALL I'm saying. Even if it were someone saying they didn't want to be around "high/SES" because their shallow. Just an example not saying they are and if it was constant and with different words. We have to give respect to get respect. The one and most important thing is that we are all parents that care so much for our children that we want to share ore experiences and shop for the best of the best for them!!! We should build on that and stop putting emphasis on things that don't matter. You never know where you will find yourself in the future. I'm African American and I made over six figures for ten years up until 2 years ago. I'm now a FARM..... Don't care cause no matter what I will ALWAYS shop for the best for mine.

And I don't mean retail

A great many whites in America came to America as immigrants in the last 100 years, long after slavery was abolished, they never had anything to do with it. And even when there was slavery, it was far from every white who owned slaves - only the landed, wealthy elite, the plantation owners of the south owned slaves, the rest of the whites were typically little more than poor white sharecroppers and laborers who couldn't afford slaves, not to mention those who found slavery abhorrent and wouldn't take slaves even if they could afford them. And... let's not forget the little inconvenient fact that many Africans were sold into slavery by their fellow Africans, who routinely practiced slavery as well.

Google that before going on another reverse racist rant against whites suggesting they all owe you something.

Googled and here's what I found!

Thank you for being so forthcoming. FARMS does not equal ignorant and uneducated. I hope you find a wonderful job soon.

You should use your savings before taking handouts. That is what savings are for.

Yup people are good at saying racist things, or acting in a racist manner but then when you say something, its turned around like you are the one with the problem.

Well if that's what it's for then you need to move out our America to Ireland some damn where. Minorities are everywhere and if you didn't want to be around "minorities" you should have stayed in your own country with your own kind instead of invading another Race's country and then unwillingly shipping another race over here! Another "fun fact" is that white are actually the minority since people or "color" of any race saturate the majority of the earth's population!!!! We just THINK their the majority cause they are everywhere and you see them all the time on TV and they run the damn US and that's all we see. It's all allusion and pure perception, nothing more but it's they say things are and it doesn't look like its changing anytime soon.
