| 3.5 yrs for first, 3 for second. Not a big deal to me. 3 yrs old is still a baby. I would rather my children drink my milk than a COW's milk. I did not give birth to a calf. |
| My son weaned at almost 3. I didn't breast feed him in public past 18 months though. Between 2-3 years it was a slow weaning process of 3 times a day down to just one before bed and then slowly phasing that out. I don't have a problem with someone breast feeding as long as is okay for both mom and child. However, I question on-demand feeding for a 2-3 year old. I don't think that is developmentally appropriate. Children that age need limits in various areas and I think a child that age can be taught when to separate from mom nursing time in public. |

My SIL breastfed her youngest until 4.
Both my children weaned around 12 months. I can't imagine either of my kids breast feeding as toddlers/preschoolers, both too independent. |
What do you mean she didn't know???????? |
Well, I didn't give birth to an almond, yet my daughter uses almond milk on her cereal. Stop being ridiculous. |
| facts, not rumours |
LMAO |
Same. I know a child who breastfed till age 7 and as weird as that is, I think the 5 year old who still takes a bottle just might be a touch weirder. |
| 3.5 (I'd finally couldn't do it anymore). But at about 2, I stopped nursing in public and about 2.5 I stopped nursing in front of anyone but immediate family (my mom and sister etc). |
No, I think a child who breast feeds at 7 is definitely weirder (unless food availability is the issue). |
Hahahaha! |
A 3 year old is not a baby. |
WTF? Your mother-in-law drank somebody's breastmilk until adulthood? |
This is such a ridiculous assumption, like saying AP kids are too dependent.... My 2,5yo is in a Montessori school. He gets dressed by himself and can pour his own juice and *gasp* he still breastfeeds "literally" from the breast.

| WHO says to BF until 24 mos and it's not because some poor kids can't have clean water or good food. It's because they're still experimenting with food, they don't eat enough quantity to keep up with their needs and they crave the affection. |
