They are for me - maybe not for everyone. I'm pretty flat-footed, so who knows. Seems like the consensus here is that they're ugly, but who knows what demographic is responding. OP, if it matters, I'm 29 with two kids and I wear my Toms all the time... but, so does my teenage sister. I'm just not to the Dansko stage in life yet, I guess.

Not cute, not cute at all. I think they are just as bad as Dankso's, Tevo's, and dirty whit tennis shoes...they scream dog walker.

33 2 kids

Jimmy Choo's to work
FRYE boots with some jeans
Chloe Ballet Flats to walk the dog

I probably have more shoes than Imelda Marcos and I'd never wear those canvas old lady shoes.

I definitely believe you. OMG could you be more of a brand whore?

OP here. I actually don't think they are cute either. I wanted to like the ballet style ones but they were more expensive and really rigid so I tried the originals. Actually pretty comfy and more the amount I wanted to spend. Most summer days I wear Reef flip flops - soo comfy.

Anyway, I noticed these seemed trendy and I'm trying to stay more "with it"

FWIW, I'm 32 w/2 small kids and have a decent figure considering that.

I have the ballet flats too, and they definitely were not comfortable the first 5 times I wore them. They cut the back of my foot, but most shoes that I wear barefoot do that to me. However, I do think the ballet flats are adorable, and I stuck with them. They are much better now, but I wouldn't use them if I knew I had to walk far. And I agree, most days I wear Reef or Rainbow flip-flops (not to work but at home and on the weekends). I'm 29 with 1 child, if that makes any difference.

I have a pair and like them a lot - they're good for running around on the playground with the kids. They're not gorgeous, but I don't think they're hideous either.

I have the gray pair. I used to think they were hideous and made fun of my sister for having them.

Then I tried and pair on and thought they were cute. They are very versatile for casual wear clothing (i.e. skirts, shorts, jeans).

They are NOT comfy for the first few wears until they mold to your feet. But then when they do its like walking with slippers BUT I would not recommend for long periods of walking if you want a lot of support.

Horrible. I don't think anyone over the age of 12 should wear them.

Agreee with this. The more I wear them, the more I like them, but I like them for their trendy/comfort factor more than because I think they are actually cute...

I think of them like E.T. ---E.T. was actually kind of ugly, but everyone in the end thought he was cute in a weird way.

Oh yes, you should see my handbag and watch collection. I'm such a snob about clothes that I only shop 2xs a year and it involves a long weekend in Manhattan. Looove me some SoHo and Greenwich. Though my shoes and handbags do tend to be big brands, for my clothes, I prefer the more boutique obsecure designers that NY has to offer.

Ugly ugly. I think Danskos and Crocs and legions more attractive than Toms.

$450 shoes to walk the dog? You're gonna take advice from THAT?

Toms = big on arts school campuses (that's high school).

Hey girl...if you can afford it DO IT! I love all my Jimmy Choo's and handbags. I really want a Birkin but I think that might be too much!

I had a silly moment at Starbucks when I realized nearly everyone around me was wearing Toms. Eight more people (clearly students) walked in and six of the eight were wearing Toms.

Felt like a Twilight Zone episode.

Trendy in the extreme, evidently!

I have no interest in them. My feet would look absurd and would be a mess without any real support. I have the same problem locating ballet flats.

why the hate on Dansko? I think they can be cute:
