OP here. I actually don't think they are cute either. I wanted to like the ballet style ones but they were more expensive and really rigid so I tried the originals. Actually pretty comfy and more the amount I wanted to spend. Most summer days I wear Reef flip flops - soo comfy.

Anyway, I noticed these seemed trendy and I'm trying to stay more "with it"

I have the ballet flats too, and they definitely were not comfortable the first 5 times I wore them.  They cut the back of my foot, but most shoes that I wear barefoot do that to me.  However, I do think the ballet flats are adorable, and I stuck with them.  They are much better now, but I wouldn't use them if I knew I had to walk far.  And I agree, most days I wear Reef or Rainbow flip-flops (not to work but at home and on the weekends).  I'm 29 with 1 child, if that makes any difference.  [/quote]
