| Can't the father just ask for a paternity test? It seems like I hear about women doing that to prove paternity; wouldn't it work the other way as well? |
Adam Dell was proven to be the father. Padma just continued (and maybe continues?) to work to keep him out of their child's life. Apparently she had her new boyfriend play daddy to the kid. |
I'm sure Mr. Dell would have the money to get a lawyer, go to court, and get a visitation order... |
| She is revolting - a stick insect. Not at all hot. |
He has gotten a lawyer and gone to court (I'm going off of the news articles I've read about the situation). Are you familiar with child custody battles at all? I've never been through one, but even I'm aware that it's not as easy-breezy as 1-2-3, go to court and everything is perfectly and fairly resolved. |
| You are surprised? |
|
I've always been surprised by the fact that she hosts top chef and gets to proffer an opinion on food prepared by professionals who know their craft so well, when she has zero credentials in that area. I'd be willing to bet she can't even boil an egg.
And hearing that languid, monotone voice of hers drives me nuts--can't watch that show for long. |
I don't really like her, but she actually does have some credentials in food. She used to host a couple food shows. Not that is makes her an expert cook, but I would bet that she can review decently. |
| Based on the many Indian women I have known, the culture breeds a materialism like I have never seen before. Not surprised she is interested in old men with money. Flame away! |
Wow. Just wow. I can't believe someone would say something like this about an entire culture, especially one that forms one of the largest populations in the world. Well, based on a lot of what I read on this forums, I'm just going to generalize and say that I think white people are all rich, ignorant morons. |
I am ok with this generalization most white people are rich and stupid. |
NP of course one can't say every Indian does X because there are many sub cultures and billions of people. But since there are billions it might seems like there are a lot of materialistic people emerging in India based on a western definition (example: donating to charity is unheard of mainly due still to a belief in the caste system or karma and a distrust of people that ask for money). Plus when people move from abject poverty to riches they tend to go overboard buying things they never could once afford. Anyway, I wouldn't disagree with the idea outright, but I doubt that's why Padma is a gold digger. Some people just don't see a problem with the exchange (money for beauty). |
Oh gee, really? You mean that family court is not all holding hands and singing Kumbaya?
The point is that he has plenty of resources at his disposal. I find it very hard to believe that Padma could just keep her child from his father simply because she wants to. Doesn't work that way. |
I agree. It's a moronic comment. Clearly someone has no clue about the breadth and diversity of Indian culture (not to mention the inaccuracies inherent in stereotyping.) |
