Top Chef's Padma

^ Just because you find it hard to believe doesn't mean it's not true. And Padma was keeping the child from its father, which is why the issue went to court. They both have plenty of resources, so it's not like one has the upper financial hand. Unless you want to argue that Padma had it, because she had the support of her billionaire boyfriend.

Exactly. Go to court. Or are you saying the judge said it was A-OK that she wasn't giving him access?

Well there hasn't been any news in the press about the custody battle since the initial reports, so I assume (hope) it's been fairly resolved. Or they're just not allowed to talk about it in the media any more.

She actually has several cookbooks and culinary training - http://www.amazon.com/Tangy-Tart-Hot-Sweet-Recipes/dp/1602860068

I'm beginning to think that she is in on some conspiracy with Dell to gain the fortune of the dead guy. How is it that Dell is willingly allowing her to keep the child from him? No way has the court not ordered her to allow him visitation. How much to do you want to bet that she is back with Dell within the year?

Only in the DC area would a thread like this become a way for DCUM to become racist against Indian people. God, I cannot wait to move out of this hellhole.

Based on the two Indian women you met at your office you mean?

Racism is bad because it makes unwarranted generalizations about a whole people. You are no better with your charactization of DCUM and this region.

No, I don't think she was conspiring with Dell. She hated, and probably still hates, him.

Dell didn't willingly let her keep their kid away from him. They had an out-of-court custody agreement, and when she didn't honor the terms of it, he took her to court. Everything's been quiet in the media since then, so hopefully it's been worked out. I still think it's supremely shitty that she gave her kid a name honoring her new boyfriend and let the new boyfriend play daddy to the kid, just because she's upset that she didn't get pregnant by the "right" guy.

WOW!

You just judged 1,170,938,726 people based on a TV personality?

LOL that says a lot more about you than them!

Wow. Just wow. I can't believe someone would say something like this about an entire culture, especially one that forms one of the largest populations in the world. Well, based on a lot of what I read on this forums, I'm just going to generalize and say that I think white people are all rich, ignorant morons.

NP of course one can't say every Indian does X because there are many sub cultures and billions of people. But since there are billions it might seems like there are a lot of materialistic people emerging in India based on a western definition (example: donating to charity is unheard of mainly due still to a belief in the caste system or karma and a distrust of people that ask for money). Plus when people move from abject poverty to riches they tend to go overboard buying things they never could once afford.

Anyway, I wouldn't disagree with the idea outright, but I doubt that's why Padma is a gold digger. Some people just don't see a problem with the exchange (money for beauty).

There you go making HUGE generalizations again. Give it up, you are truly ridiculous. The Indians I know are far more charitable than you can even imagine.

Padma herself leaves me cold. To me, she is devoid of personality on TV, though lovely. No sex appeal at all, she radiates nothing IMO.

I cannot stand this woman!

She wears sleeveless outfits all the time. Ok, fine, we freaking get it...you have that huge scar on your arm that you're proud of. Whatever, who cares if you think it makes you a better person or survivor or whatever it is. I'm not for or against your scar, but dammit cover your effing arms every once in a while.

Actually, this statement is proven.

Whatever happened to the hotter (and also less skeevy) white chick from Season 1? Why was she replaced with Padma?
