Beauty and Fashion
| I too am jealous. I would love, love for my college boyfriend to see me now, even frumpy, and know that I did so much better and my dreams (home, family, job) really did come true. Yeah, whatever, I wish him well, but man, did he make me feel like I wanted too much. |
| Old BF hasn't seen you current clothes so stop sounding like the teen on a big date. |
|
Totally agree about the jeans, boots and going to nordstrom for a top. Great idea!!
You NEEEDDD to go get a blowout before you go. I'm serious, this is crucial. I am amazing at doing my own hair yet a good stylist will do it better. Go to someone at Andre Chreky, honestly it doesn't matter who because they all do amazing blowouts. $40 well spent. |
| I hope that all of you posting with such excitement here would be EQUALLY excited if your husbands were getting advice from their buddies or a forum about looking their best and what to wear for a date/dinner with an old girlfriend! For many, this could be a b-a-d idea. |
Geez, you're a real downer. Best wishes to the OP! |
Hearing the possibility is hard? |
THIS. Except something tastefully low cut but no cleavage. Blow out and cute earrings. Or jeans and sexy top that doesn't look like you're trying to be sexy. As we're living vicariously through you, DO report back. Have fun! |
|
Yes, this is vicariously FUN! OP doesn't sound like she's going to do anything naughty.
Please report back!!!! |
DH might want to look good, but he's goofy about it--just like we are. |
| I wonder what that City Paper writer would say about this thread. "All those desperate housewives..." |
Yeah, sounds like OP wouldn't mind one bit if something happened. Why such excitement? |
|
Another Debbie Downer here.
OP - You should go on this "date" only if your husband joins you. Just the fact that you want to look good for him tells me that somewhere deeeeeeep down, you are fantasizing. let's be honest. |
| Invite your husband to go with you |
| Just go and enjoy yourself. Nothing wrong with an innocent fantasy date. |
|
Long sleeve, no cleavage, not too fitted dress over tights and your beloved boots. Looks like you threw it on in 5 minutes but is put together.
Men like dresses and are indifferent to tunics and leggings. Dresses look like you wanted to look nice. Leggings are sort of like pajamas and don't show that you value the occasion. Don't spend on a blow out or wear anything glittery or that shows your boobs bc it will freak your DH out. |
