I thought RTO was about increasing resignations?

Doesn't help the non-bargaining unit folks but a win is a win. And it was the correct result.

Same with HHS but the agency appealed and we had no change in RTO status (now it has to go to court or something).

RTO was some pet project of republican congress members, along with DOGE’s idea to get people to quit. That phase seems over, but the administration continues to want to make us as miserable as possible.

Do they have bipolar disorder — they want to maximize resignations by making life miserable while simultaneously hiring a bunch?

I think folks need to rethink their theories for the RTO obsession.

I think they realized that they got rid of too many people and now agencies are not operating well. And the current administration thinks there is a huge supply of underemployed qualified people just waiting for a chance to move to this area and commute to work in person.

My agency is an administration priority and we have been needlessly teleworking from the office this entire time.

I would be really surprised if they did not or are not planning to appeal the arbitration decision. A number of other unions have won their arbitrations and the agencies have filed frivolous appeals. In my agency, specifically, the LR people told our agency head that they were going to lose from the start and they don't care, they are planning to drag this out as long as possible and with a Trump controlled FLRA there is a strong likelihood that happens.

^edit: I just saw a news article on this, the arbitrator ruled on June 8th. I guarantee you they will appeal around the 30th day like they have everywhere else. You're in the same line as the rest of us, good luck.

I guess it is loosening up a teeny bit as they are talking about giving everyone at my agency a few hundred ad hoc TW hours per year which would amount to about one day per pay period of TW.

So your agency is flagrantly violating the EO and opm directives? Bold move!

Musk is gone. Trump is asleep with dementia. None of the grifter ghouls occupying the top of government are paying attention to how actual work gets done. They are more concerned with stealing whatever isn't nailed down.

No — they have a crack team of forensic IT specialists closely analyzing badge swipes and comparing to time cards. Then they go through the lengthy and time consuming bureaucratic process of disciplining anyone who’s flagged with a discrepancy.

Ditto for anyone who dares to take their lunch at the end of the workday.

(Or at least that’s what many of the idiots on DCUM would have you believe.)

I don’t know about a crack team but we were told they are comparing badge swipes to hours entered and location. We have a very small bank of TW hours and location is being tracked to make sure we’re in and not TW if we didn’t charge to TW hours.
And this was from several layers of management. Glad you think it’s a conspiracy but I’m doubtful.

Are you stupid? Too many people left. A year and a half later, the agencies are realizing that DOGE was a huge mistake and they actually need staff so they are hiring.

AI could identify time card fraud in the blink of an eye. There are more RIF coming, they changed OPM tenure performance ranking for a reason just in March.

They are supposedly hiring but continue being jerks to the employees, so no one is going to apply.

+1. They are definitely forcing our supervisors to check on us and provide spreadsheets as proof. Not making this up.
