Lab grown diamonds

I would only buy lab diamonds and think people who spend bucks on natural diamonds are chumps.

Not into lab diamonds.

For something of beauty, whether it's a person or thing, I like the whole concept of the earth making something, not technology.

Vaccines and medications are a whole separate topics and I feel the opposite on those of course.

Lab diamonds are indistinguishable from mined diamonds, and their much more accessible price point will devalue mined diamonds unless they have very special provenance. Mined diamonds are an even more terrible value than ever.

I would buy an older stone and then get it reset.

Ever since I found out that gold and silver can only be made by a star exploding, and gemstones are made from heat and high pressure on earth, I am drawn to the gold and silver more than gems. I still like gems, but, for me, the simple gold ring has more meaning now.

I think I still prefer natural gemstones over lab grown for the symbolic reasons that they have been created through struggle. I also prefer some of the more colorful gemstones over diamonds.

I would have to interrogate my date to determine if she cares about real diamonds. Easier to avoid diamonds altogether.

+1 the point of jewelry is that it's pretty and rare. I don't want fake gold, lab gemstones or lab diamonds. I can't tell a real diamond from a crystal so the fact that lab diamonds are diamonds is irrelevant to me.

Fake diamonds are always cheaper you do you

Just like Bitcoin the energy and effort reflect the value so mined have higher value

She likes the "concept of the earth making something," lol.

Oh gosh.

This thread confirms my suspicion that most who hang out on DCUM are on the left side of the bell and inclined to type away on any subject anyway.

OP, lab grown diamonds are diamonds. I have a lot of diamonds, I love them and other gemstones as well. My grandfather was a geologist. At this point I would only buy a lab; it is what makes sense.

Natural diamonds sell for a fraction of the price. No one is buying a diamond for resale.
