| I agree they are heavily incentivized not to close schools given that they rushed it too soon on the calendar adjustment. That said, if they do have to close, it would be a second chance for them revisit their revised calendar which was pretty half baked. They need to switch more days off in March to at least half day instructional days to get us out of this weird partial 2-3 day week at the end of the year |
How did they box themselves in? |
| Where is first place that delay/closure would be announced ? |
Before the snowcrete even had a chance to melt, DCPS announced that they were canceling one of the teacher work days allotted for student conferences and extended the school day at additional day but that meant that now the last week of school has three instructional days that straddle an election day holiday, Juneteenth and a major religious observance, and makes teachers work the following Monday. They ought to figure out something better. |
Usually Facebook or Instagram |
| Also check the X account for DCPS |
| Just please announce soon. Delay / no delay. Just tell us. Yeesh. |
agree. If we're opening on time just say so |
|
Critical period will be 10 to 1AM
They may not be able to call it before you got to sleep. |
| Mcps is closed and most districts are closed or two hour delay. Dcps is the only one that hasn’t announced. They are actually pissing me off just announce already!! |
Yup. Ridiculous. |
Closed or delayed for what? It’s raining and too warm for any significant snow to stick to the ground. |
| This one is a harder call than the last storm. |
| Our charter just called with a 2 hour delay |
DCPS is probably staying open which is why they haven't announced anything. |
