So now that they’ve effectively boxed themselves in with their snow day decision, what will they do if there’s actually significant weather overnight that should warrant a closure? I assume they now will try and push to stay open/delayed no matter what happens but does anyone have any insight as to the options if we hit the boom scenario?
How did they box themselves in?
Before the snowcrete even had a chance to melt, DCPS announced that they were canceling one of the teacher work days allotted for student conferences and extended the school day at additional day but that meant that now the last week of school has three instructional days that straddle an election day holiday, Juneteenth and a major religious observance, and makes teachers work the following Monday. They ought to figure out something better.
