do people still use condoms?

Same. I have always struggled with hormonal BC and after kids didn't want to go back on it. DH doesn't want a vasectomy, so condoms it is.

XDH and I used condoms all through our marriage. He was low-libido, though, so that probably factored in.

Let’s be clear: birth control does not protect one from sexually transmitted diseases.
A condom or mouth dam is absolutely necessary.

Well, the kids today aren’t having as much sex as we did, so there’s that.

I wish I did since my SAH ExW gave me an STD from her affair.

I stopped taking BC (tired of the hormonal effects, 40yo so at risk for blood clots) and insist men wear condoms.

They fall into 3 camps:

1. Have condoms, happy to wear them.

2. Don't want to wear them so will "forget" them the first several times you hook up until they realize you aren't budging.

3. Hate condoms and can't stay hard with them.

Unfortunately right now I'm dating a #3. I thought he would get better, but nothing. We have PIV maybe once a month and it doesn't last long. He's constantly saying how he wishes he didn't have to use one, which puts a lot of pressure on me, but I'm not budging.

I’m similar to him but my partners allowed me to go bareback in the “other” place.

If it is the A it seems particularly dangerous in terms of STIs. But hey, whatever.

C'mon guys I know they suck, but another child or an infection is far far worse.

i wouldn't think #3 would be a thing since sensation is less with condoms. maybe with out the condom the explosion will happen instantaneously, and if that's the case, why bother?

Yep, same here. DH and I have used condoms for almost 20 yrs as our only form of BC. The Only time we’ve had unprotected sex was while trying and when I was pregnant. It takes 2 seconds to get one on - Really NBD. If it were, he’d be in a bigger rush to get snipped.

It's not about the time to put one on, it's the feeling. In my 40s, I can only keep it up if it's with a new person. After 2-3x, the lack of feeling will cause ED. I've had a vasectomy so we just get tested and all good to proceed.
