I’m an Independent who voted for Trump and hold a masters degree in a STEM field. I get news via WSJ, WaPo, the Economist, and podcasts. I’m overall happy with my vote for Trump, although his foreign policy has not been great (as expected).

I voted for Dems in the past and would vote for one again, but not any of the names being tossed around for the next nominee.

It's only the foreign policy that bothers you? Not the killing of American citizens with no repercussions, the inhumane treatment of immigrants in concentration camps, and Trump's racist posts? You are full on MAGA, no matter what your voter registration claims.

Actually, it does. The electoral college will favor Republicans as population shifts. This is what will determine election outcome.

People don’t become Republicans when they move to traditionally Republican states, though. This is why Arizona and Georgia have two Democratic senators right now.

This post is the epitome of what’s wrong with the group think of current Dems. If Dems want to earn people’s votes, they need a platform beyond “well, at least we’re not that guy!”

Seriously. I haven’t voted for a republican on the presidential ticket since the early 90s, but I have about had it with Dems. They just needed to be slightly better than Trump to win, and thought Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris was the best choice.

Regarding the ballroom….
Private donations are not a legitimate funding source for federal buildings/activities. Lawsuits we’ll tell if it is considered a legal source. Because as can be seen by current donations - the money coming in is thinly veiled bribes. Don’t want a tariff on your company….donate to the ballroom.

But I would expect private donations will be determined to unlawful for federal activities.

Federal spending is determined by Congress - you know that constitutional thing - power of the purse. And just because current speaker of the house and senate majority leader are not exercising congressional oversight - doesn’t mean that will always be the case.

You know what? I've come to realize that Democrats are just as unbearable and holier-than-thou, if not more so, than Republicans. NP but I don’t believe you hold a master’s in STEM. If you did the illegal immigrants would not threaten you. For me, they might be my house cleaners and landscapers. (Probably, I employ the companies but don’t interrogate the employees). Are they somehow your competitors?

I gotta say, of all of the people I know, who have HHIs in upper 6 and lower 7 digits, none are threatened by illegal immigants.

Agree with most of this. I’m Republican but didn’t vote for Trump in either election. I agree with tightening up the borders, arresting criminal aliens, and tamping down some of the DEI stuff. I do, however, believe that Trump should be sitting in a jail cell and that his entire Cabinet are a bunch of clowns. I can’t wait until Scavino, Miller, Kennedy, Bondi, Noem, Homan, Patel, Hegseth, Tulsi and the rest of them are held accountable and are left to fight each other for the two available jobs at NewsMax or Fox.
