I trust the Dems can't be this dumb, but there was another thread last week asking Congressional staffers what they were hearing in Congress. The only person that answered was from a Senate office and they said all they were talking about were some leaked Ted Cruz remarks about the GOP and Trump.

Zip about funding, ICE, etc. Doesn't give me a lot of hope.

That's the problem 2 weeks from now with a 2 week CR for DHS. I agree that if this plan does pass quickly the DHS bit may fall apart.

At least the focus will all be on that. The reality is that Democrats aren't in the majority. They should fight and fight loudly and then lay the blame at the GOP's feet if they lose, but don't hold the rest of government hostage.

This is a weird loophole why would an already approved funding bill that was voted on get blocked later. This needs to stop on both sides or else it will be very messy if Republicans lose power.

Big beautiful bill was already voted on and passed , there shouldn't even be a debate to pass the budget in relationship to things already agreed to. Whether Republican or Democrat this passing the bill thing is not being used as intended and is being used to go back to already voted on matters
