There are unfortunately two local clubs who ruined the chance for their players to get the most from the opportunity and experience

They made life miserable for the parents and players in regards to participating in the program. Blocked the kids at every turn.
Sad

For those of us without a DCU kid, would you be willing to share: are these U13/U14 boys? Which clubs do they come from mostly? Which clubs blocked the kids?

futures is u14, but there were some 2013/14 and even 2011 in the pool. SYC had the most kids of local clubs, with arlington, vda, bethesda, alexandria, balitmor armor having the bulk of the rest

As a follower of the DCU thread, I find it interested and disturbing that you actually think this person has malice.

I just saw the US camp announcements and thought it was interesting that one kid was listed with DCU. It was not enough to make me post but maybe people have genuine questions.

This is my first time posting in this thread. As a follower of the DCU thread and a kid two years younger who plays with many of the kids named, I have no questions about DCU. You might want to cater to the rest of the marketplace if you want any type of academy in the future.

while those two clubs let their kids participate in weekly practice with dcua, they wouldn't let them participate in the 3 weekends the futures played tournaments/games. but it wouldn't be tru to suggest that no one from those two teams were selected for the team for next season. instagram posts confirm this just isnt the case

Who said the players weren't going to be selected for next season?
The post said what you confirmed, they were blocked from playing in good experience tournament games

No idea what instagram stuff you're talking about

How can a 2011 U15 be in a U14's future roster pool?

What does a USYNT camp have to do with this thread about DCU futures?

it's futures - as in, on radar/consideration for future opportunities - and unless you don't have school during the day, only time you can practice with dc is their futures program at night. that's how.

I would recommend everyone take a look at this thread. This is the most loser s—- I have ever seen from a “high-performance” environment. Toxic AF!

BSC recently sent a kid to Nashville to avoid DCU. An Achilles product is at NE Revolution.

Do your research people before the Loudoun 🦀’s get to you. Didn’t know 🦀’s were popular in Loudoun? Welcome to the DCU Academy. Where dreams come to die. Freddy Adu to … (we’re hanging onto Kevin Parades at Wolfsburg as the most successful product from DCU).

Good luck with the “future”

OP here, thanks to those who were able to answer the question. For what it's worth, we are well versed in the shortcomings of DCU. Was really just curious if parents of this year's futures found it to be a good experience and worth the weekly drive. Sounds like they did. Best of luck to everyone in the spring season.

You need to go back to your cave. You are PROJECTING, YOU are the crazy one that gives DCU a bad name, not the other person that you attack with your anger and toxicity. No one ones to join any club that has parents like you either!

They had two indoor locations for practice - Maryland and Virginia - so it wasn’t a hike to Leesburg every week. Overall it was a good experience. The weekly training sessions were intense and worthwhile. The games that we played were quality matches and coaches gave feedback. No complaints and glad to have been able to participate.
