It's the problem with the two party system. When you have to choose between evil and feckless, feckless is the better choice.
We have to work within the party system to change it. Elect people to the lower levels that will rise through the ranks and hopefully retain their original ideology. |
NP here. Run a moderate Democrat in 2028 who has an impressive military record alike Kelly and isn’t going to chase away two-thirds of the party. Democrats have yo love back to the center and stop trying to shove candidates who are too liberal down everyone’s throats. |
I don't disagree that these are generally attempts to move attention away from whatever stupid/atrocious/evil thing this administration is doing, but one cannot argue with the premise that Democrats ARE weak. I don't know how it is that Democrats can't get anything done when they're the majority party because of Republican obstruction, but the Republicans can get shit done when they're the majority party even when their margins are identical. This I believe is why the approval ratings of Democratic party is abysmal. Because people like me who consistently vote D still do not approve of the party, and especially its leadership. The old guard needs to step down so some flamethrowers can be in charge. Obviously, the R approvals would be subterranean with us. |
Save the whining for when we don’t have a fascist with end-stage prion disease in the White House. |

Say the quiet part out loud. |
That is a deep cut for mental decline. All the hamburgers? |
I hope Jasmine Crockett prevails in Texas. At least she's a flamethrower in the mold you're describing. |
Either that or he ingested deer poop. They’ll have to do an autopsy to find out for sure. |
No, they don’t “have to” move to the center. Every time they do that, the Republicans shift further to the right. The cycle repeats until the moderate position is well into right-wing territory. It’s an age-old Republican strategy. Ever notice how they don’t call for Republicans to stop shoving Nazi-curious candidates down our throats and appeal more to mainstream America? |
DP. Supplant the existing party. One major party at a time. Why do you jump to MAGA is worse? Stop letting them take up space in your head and work on establishing an alternative to the Democratic Party. |
They’ve run zero liberal candidates. They do not run far right candidates, that’s it. From way over in crazy white nationalist land I’m sure that centrists seem like liberals, though. |
Yes. The answer is more AOC and Mamdani, less Schumer. |
OMG. Stop boosting this dreadful person.
|
Yes, this. Trump has shown us Sh*t can get done. The bipartisan Obamacare has failed to curtail costs (for both the individual as well as the healthcare system as a whole) or produce healthier outcomes (Americans are more unhealthy than ever). The next time we have the Presidency and Congress I hope we have the courage to make change |
