Boys can and should knit too.

Sure why not buy them a butter churn too.

I have a 15 year old. He wants iPad, AirPods, a new Xbox, a monitor, X box gift card and some sports equipment.

Good ideas already in the thread but if you’re looking for something more offbeat-yiunger mid might hot record player and some favorite albums, weird vintage sweaters (think Dr. Huxtable, unfortunately) beats if they dont have them, golf stuff (like a ranger finder) if they like golfing.

Nobody *SHOULD* learn to knit. It's not a life skill that everyone needs and plenty of people live long happy lives without ever knitting a stitch.

Those who have interest in knitting may enjoy it very much but saying that anyone *should* knit, male or female, is ridiculous.

Mine give lists:

New snowboard gear (they tell me exactly what)
Ugg slippers
Tickets to a sporting event
Specific hoodies
They get $ from their grandparents and aunt/uncle

Movie theater gift cards so they can go with friends
Gift card to their fav "hang out / eat at place" -- Chipotle, wherever.

I am assuming that both sons need to fund their own outside school/home lifestyles -- e.g., they pay when eating out with friends, going to movies with buddies, etc.

I did just this. Tickets to a University of Md basketball game in January. Not too expensive and something fun and different to do. The DMV has a lot of colleges and universities - lots of choice!

My 14 yo loves to fish, watch football, and game with friends, plus go to the mall and wander around.

I'm thinking gift cards to mall food places, maybe a new tackle box (want), and a hoodie of his favorite team ( wear).

Plus need=socks&underwear and a book to read.

Any ideas for a 14 yo who is a reluctant but advanced reader? His reading level consistently measures at college level but he doesn't really enjoy reading for fun.

Mine is getting a tortilla blanket. Which is goofy, but guarantee it will be a hit.
