| Whole Foods closes at 1pm and they have sides. |
|
No. Do not eat it. Throw it out. Buy new sides or go without. Mash some potatoes, use bag stuffing mix.
Is this her first time not in the NE? Have DH tell her. |
Or, a family food poisoning. |
| So we figured it out. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and rolls were all made fresh. We ditched the sweet potato casserole and replaced with sweet potato roasted (there were a couple left). Had broccoli that was in the fridge instead of green bean casserole. The stuffing was just bread, onion, celery with chicken stock, so we are heated it up really hot and are crossing our fingers. |
| Glad you figured it out! How'd she take it? |
What's that about?? Senility? Just put the sides in the oven at 350 for 15 min and heat them up. Should be fine. |
| Do not eat the stuffing, because the chicken stock is great for growing bacteria. |
I mean, not great. She just can’t understand what the big deal is. We’ve had similar issues in the past but we’ve always caught them earlier and just quietly fixed it. |
You did the right thing! |
| I go with the smell test; have never had a foodborne illness. Good luck! |
|
I would have kept the sweet potato casserole and ditched the rest.
Many people keep cream and butter out all day. |
| The sweet potato casserole would’ve been fine. That’s just potatoes, sugar, etc. But also I’ve never once had food poisoning in my life and I eat stuff that sits out all the time so I really wouldn’t care. |
Agree. Toss the chicken stock |
| Wonder how OP and family are today |
You eat food with dairy that’s left in 75 degrees for 18 hours? Disgusting. |
