We ditched the sweet potato casserole and replaced with sweet potato roasted (there were a couple left). Had broccoli that was in the fridge instead of green bean casserole. The stuffing was just bread, onion, celery with chicken stock, so we are heated it up really hot and are crossing our fingers.

Yikes. The stuffing is the item most likely to get contaminated… Hope it turned out ok!

Two options: troll post, or OP died.

Anonymous wrote:My MIL made all the sides for Thanksgiving Wednesday and put them in the garage as though she still lives in the upper NE. It was 75 yesterday. So they sat out there literally all day (probably 6-8 hours) til we saw them and put them in the fridge. Stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, etc. WTF do we do? She says it's fine, she always does that. ???? I feel like we just have to eat it and pray for the best?

What's that about?? Senility?

Just put the sides in the oven at 350 for 15 min and heat them up. Should be fine.

You eat food with dairy that’s left in 75 degrees for 18 hours? Disgusting.

OP said 6-8, not 18

Some people leave butter out on the counter, never to be refrigerated. Cream left out is.....sour cream. Yall threw out the wrong items. The dressing (stuffing) should have been the thing to have been trashed since it had chicken stock in it.

Completely agree.

Butter can stay on the counter at room temperature all day long.

Warm Stuffing is basically a Petri dish for bacteria.

+1, the chicken stock would have concerned me more than anything else. I'd have eaten the sweet potatoes, no problem. And I leave butter on the counter all the time, for days at a time.

But I hope it all worked out for the OP!
