Fighter jets patrolled the DC airspace for days if not weeks after 9/11. That's what it sounds like. I remember the sound because I heard it.

The alert incorrectly says "Monday" though gives the correct date (October 28). Today is Tuesday, October 28th.

I guess I vaguely remember that. It was a weird time. I remembered them scrambling the right after the attacks because I was outside with coworkers and we were getting news about the event from people on the street (pre-smart phones) and cell service was down. My friend literally hit the deck when it went over because it was so loud.

But yeah, I guess I recall the flyovers in the following weeks. I have more specific memories of military on the metro with guns.
