Incorrect regarding family law attorneys. Their job is to represent their clients which may or may not be in the best interests of the children. It would be malpractice to put the child's interests before your client's interests. |
| Life coach, wellness coach, that kind of thing. I hate the PE people too but at least they are transparent about their motivations. I've known people in the "wellness space" who will sell you a load of BS about how they just want to help people and promote healthy living, but then they'll charge astronomical prices for something that requires no education or special training, in a field with no oversight or certification. Most of them are glorified yoga instructors. If that! At least yoga is an actual skill. |
Disagree on defense attorneys. |
True. I’m going to add private practice psych and therapists to the mix. Most don’t help much but love to keep their clients coming in every week. Cha Ching |
Eh, I know this is their spiel for why they do it, but going to trial and re-traumatizing victims in violent crimes and sexual assaults during cross-examination when you know your client did it and should cop a plea is never going to earn any respect from me. |
Someone has to defend the worst cases in order for the system to work, though. |

The client is the one that gets to choose whether to accept a plea or not. You can't provide a subpar defense because you think they should have pled out. |
