unfairly perhaps, but they elicit a strong reaction from me.
Anyone else have similar irrational feelings about certain career paths? And yes, yes, I know it’s not rational, I’m biased, etc |

Yes, I see that. I personally don’t mind realtors but they do have a bad rep |
| At one time was cops for me. No longer |

Just about anything DCUM pushes their kids toward
PE is an absolute scourge Most consulting is benign and make-work, but the worst of the MBB types that enabled companies like CVS/Purdue Pharma |

Defense attorneys who take on wretches (both individuals and corporations).
In family law you need the good attorneys who are really trying to represent the best interest of kids. I know there aren't many of them, but somebody has to do it. |
| PE, IB, hedge funds. rich d*cks every one. |
PE. I agree. I have an old friend who is now in PE and I’m disappointed. She married into money and doesn’t even need to work except that she now runs in circles with people with lots of money so no amount seems to be enough for her now. |
| Advertising. Tons of money spent to push products most people don’t need. |
There are about 2 of them and they certainly do not work in private practice |
And so many who don't need to work. Just generational wealth who go into an office to show off and jck each other off, essentially. If had that level of familial wealth, the good I could do....I certainly wouldn't be making things worse just to make more money. |
Public defenders view themselves as protecting constitutional rights more than defending the individuals. Without defense attorneys the government can blatantly violate your rights. |
Thread winner! These are the true people ruining the world. |
| Just another plug for public defenders. The truly believe in the Constitution and the rights afforded everyone therein. It is their job to put the prosecution through their paces to ensure a fair trial, that the evidence collected was legal, the jury is as unbiased as possible, etc. They recognize that most of their clients are guilty, but our system requires due process. (at least it did before the current administration) They are truly overworked and underpaid. I had many friends from law school go into that type of work. |
