Crypto Being Sold Through Church - MLM Scam?

How can you tell? Ask them how you will profit from investing in church crypto. It won't make any sense.

You shall profit for eternity.

I work at a well known crypto company. For the average consumer - NEVER buy crypto outside of a credible platform (or transfer it to some sketchy staking site post purchase).

This is obviously a scam. Idk how church works but I’d see if you can report them to a higher office like the diocese or something if the pastor / priest is in on the rig too.

It’s not the pastor but a couple who are influential church leaders and serve within the church. They have had financial problems and they claim this new crypto has been a blessing to them. People are buying this crypto based on their testimony. I’m afraid for our friends.

Don't buy any. It is not going to be worth anything, who would buy it?

You need to talk to the pastor and get these people to stop. They are scamming the rest of the flock. Whether they were taken in themselves is a harder question, but not your problem since they're trying to lure others to the scam.

These Meme coins are like penny stocks. The insiders get coins for close to zero, pump the price and sell at an inflated value and then the price drops to nearly zero.

With this crypto they get referral coins for bringing in new investors, like a MLM. So they instantly make money for every mine they sell.

A church is definitely where I would go first if I were a schemer.

Today I read that a pastor and his wife were indicted in Colorado for selling bogus crypto coin to church members. Now it's a different crypto coin being MLM'd in my church. How do you know if crypto is a scam?

All crypto is a scam.

This will not end well if this crypto scheme continues in the church. And the pastor should realize the risks to his flock if this continues. And you mention that these folks have had financial troubles, even more reason to stop this sales scheme in the church. It needs to be brought before the pastor and senior church leadership, and have these sales tactics stopped. You may consider putting your notice in writing to the church leadership. That will increase their desire to stop this activity. Documentation makes people act.

These people are selling crypto at home bible study, in their home (not church). They are also posting social media about how much they have earned through 'referrals' so they must have brought in a lot of people. The pastor does understand crypto so he's reluctant to call them out.

Probably a non-denominational church with no oversight. Anyone can set themselves up as a pastor.
