A lot of industries are also now harder for new grads. My sis in law is a CPA and is paid very well and she was talking about how they're slashing the new hires at her firm.
Ultimately you have to live with what you do all day, especially if you want a higher paying job that can require longer hours. I'm a transactional attorney and law fits a very fiddly obsessive part of my personality, but I also train new attorneys and some really struggle with it. For some they never find the groove despite me trying a few different tactics on them. And again law is a field where demand can really follow economic trends so a downturn can be very tough on newer attorneys. Basically: she needs to find a fit. |

Math skills + extreme lack of personality. |
| Accountants starting out can make $80k+. She could probably get to $100k if she supplemented w/ Only Fans on the side. |

| Two of ours went into consulting and banking. Business degree for undergrad. Both started out with low six figures and a signing bonus. |
Since you have told us so much about your daughter who has no age, no location, no academic focus, and no personality, we can give you excellent recommendations. |

Yes. Hopefully child is smarter and a better communicator than parent or her hopes of a big salary are pretty limited. |

My 2025 grad will reach 100k at the 1 year mark or sooner. Start date May 21 (3 1/2) months for one of the fastest growing private companies in the country. Management role. 85k offer. Just got a 5k bump at 90 days.
He had internships all four years of college. Thing is, after 100+ applications submitted on LinkedIn, Built In, Handshake, he took a different approach. Took a 2 week break before graduating to have some fun. Oddly, the company posted (unconventionally) on Instagram. It popped to the top of his algorithm. He was following the very famous owner. Sent resume and crazy good cover letter (not AI) directly to the HR contact via email. Offer from VP in 12 hours. He loves the job, his employees, and the management team. No cubicle life for him. He and his small team facilitated 1 million in 3 months. This isn’t a sales position. His team are not sales people. Not a finance company. It’s more like consultant management. Clients, old and young, come to them for the fun. The space is literally a playground for all. Wish I could say more, but privacy. |
+1 what on earth. Very few recent grads make that much, and only if you are either really really smart and/or have connections to work for top companies. My kid is a CS/math major, very smart, 4.0, and will probably go for a masters in CS. I'm not even sure now if they will make six figures after graduation (in 2 years). Market is brutal right now. |
I work at one of these types of places and I don't think entry level asset managers make 6 figures. |
+2 $100k as a floor is highly unrealistic. Sure a small number of new grads get that lucky but it's not the norm for any major. FWIW, my son just graduated and has a data scientist job making $85k. He feels extremely lucky to have done that well. He had competing offers at similar salary. |
Palantir is destructive and gross. I definitely wouldn’t announce this at parties. |
