Hahah did you just say I know you are but what am I? Uneducated middle schooler |
If Democrats don't care about them, maybe they should take the other side and have it not be an issue, rather than lose elections. |
| Woke are elitists who don’t care about reality, don’t care about the actual suffering of the working class, are happy to virtue signal for each other and will quickly cancel anyone who steps out of line. They are hypocrites with no principles. |
| Woke is about advocating for all the groups you don’t want in your neighborhood. |
Reality meaning your reality of wanting to keep women, brown people, gay people, etc in their place so you can continue to flourish with your white privilege? Or what exactly do you mean by suffering of the working class? How is being educated and aware of social injustice causing you to suffer? |
Since when has Trump cared about the working class? He promised us cheaper groceries and housing and gas but instead we got none of those and in fact many of our goods are getting even more expensive. |
Reality meaning: Men are not women. Having men in women’s sports, locker rooms, and prison’s is dangerous and damaging to women. Allowing millions of illegals into the country is bad for working class wages. Providing illegals with housing and financial support is disheartening to the working class who struggle without these supports. A focus on equity in schools instead of outcomes is damaging to bright poor kids who benefit from standardized testing. Just a few items off the top of my head. |
Gas is pretty cheap right now. I paid $2.99/gallon today. |
If people followed what Jesus actually said and did, most Christians will find that they're not following what he said. And they will find that the liberal hippie Jesus wasn't very tolerant either. |
| Read Rob Henderson, especially his exposition around luxury beliefs, to understand why woke is viewed negatively by many. |
Can you tell us exactly how any of this (so called) has affected your life precisely? |
Great idea OP. Keep explaining to people that being woke is a good thing. Demand it of your politicians and your fellow liberals. Explain to Trumpers that this is all just about being informed and educated. People will think, "wow I had the whole woke thing all wrong." |

NP. Woke wasn’t negative until it became an anti-labor tool weaponized against the working classes. Once it became a tool the elite used ruthlessly to divide those who might otherwise unite, it became negative.
Woke is largely used at this point to prevent poor Americans from unifying. And yes, it is negative. I despise Trump but it’s not surprising the only truly populist political party and the one that got the votes of labor rank and file is against woke. Woke is anti-labor. |
| Honest response: woke as a concept had good intentions based on being kinder and more considerate of people who were different from the mainstream, for whatever reasons (minority, trans, etc). But it quickly morphed into a judgmental and intolerant mindset seeing itself as morally superior and those who disagreed as bigoted/racist. It also developed "truths" of its own that could be jarring, especially around trans. It exaggerated racial issues with its own narrative that many strongly disagreed with. Collectively, it resulted in becoming a negative concept for a large number of people who have little in common beyond disagreeing with wokery. It also became hypocritical, particularly lashing out at working classes despite ostensibly being supportive of the concept of workers. |
Gas has reason in my area. It's been ranging from $3.18 to $4.07. |
