Grinnell’s yield is also highest of the four, suggesting that if anything it has LESS trouble attracting talent than any of the four. Kenyon is particularly pathetic when it comes to yield. |
So do all of the other schools listed. So what’s your point? |
Sigh. Ok I’ll play. 4.0/4.6 uw/w and probably Haverford or UVA. It was an easy choice between Haverford and Grinnell. And we could have afforded Haverford. |
| Pp here. SAT was 1540. |
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I assume you’re in state UVA and felt obligated to apply? |
Yes. But besides the $20K auto "merit" for ED'ing it doesn't give detials on ranges of them. Full tuition scholarships tend to be just a handful at most colleges so haven't been anythign i'm banking on. - OP |
Thanks. That's helpful. My kid's stats are slightly lower but similar; likely 4.5ish by end of sr year and 1530 SATs. - OP |
Your yield increases if you let everyone in during ED. Uchicago would love to talk to you about this strategy. |
We are in state for UVA. And nothing against the school our DS just decided he wanted to go to a smaller liberal arts school instead of a big state school. |
The chart that I always look at says 65%. It is on reddit. It has been mentioned on here before. So, take it with a grain of salt. |
Sorry they fill 65 percent of the class via ED. |
| My kid got 30k. Had a respectable but not 4.0 from a private school. Turned down Williams, Wes, Davidson, among others. |
Look, douche bag, I neither agree nor disagree with you on that. But we are talking about four colleges in particular. They ALL do this. So to single out Grinnell makes no sense. |
| My kid who got half tuition turned down Carleton and William & Mary. |
Easy choice? Only if you love cornfields. |
