Why have flights to Europe been so cheap this year?

This.

I was in tears sometimes in my travels, feeling that I had to apologize for what is bringing done under my flag.

Like when I met a Ukrainian…😳

I was just in Disney World last week and from the accents I heard, there were more UK/Australia tourists than Americans.

I think the heatwaves caused a good amount of cancellations of US travelers to Spain, Italy, Greece etc. Most of the world wants nothing to do with the US now, let alone the horrifying behavior of ICE so tourism to the US dropped exponentially. Trump screwed the economy so fewer people are taking vacations. Boomers are afraid of their retirement going down so they are scaling back.

All the EU countries are dealing with significant illegal immigration issues and unhappy citizens, so ICE is, put it this way, something only super progressives in clueless bubbles care about. Europeans are not boycotting the US because of ICE deporting illegal migrants, lol. Hahaha! Rolling on floor laughing.

There was a major drop in EU flying to the US following the announcement of the tariffs, which affected airline prices. Exchange rate also dropped, affecting demand on US side.

Having said the above, I'm in Europe right now and no shortage of American tourists and also saw no shortage of European tourists in DC and Chicago earlier this summer.

That is wrong. Many many stories of Europeans being locked up by ICE or being denied entry to US.

You are VERY wrong. Europeans are concerned about dealing with ICE, don’t want some jerk looking through their phone and don’t want to risk to be detained. Others are simply disgusted by what is happening in the US. Tourism is down to the US.

Yeah there are so many places in the world to travel to. A lot are saying "why the US right now" versus another time. No one wants to be detained and harassed on vacation.

What a loss for us! Millions of illegals vs one French taxi driver…

Well, it’s also my flag, and while I feel for Ukrainians, I don’t want to pay for their war. It’s time for them to recognize reality and give up territory to stop the war.

Not cheap for November and December.

I have relatives in the UK and Canada, and no one there, even the ones who lean conservative, think Trump is great. They all think he's an idiot. Even the London hotel manager I was chatting with alluded to Trump being an idiot.

Would you say the same if Putin took Alaska? I mean, it used to be theirs. The whole of Europe would say the same to the US: it's not our war, and we won't help you since you abandoned us.

You have a little mind and can't think on a macro level, clearly.

Let me get this correct, people have "stories" aka nothing backed by factual evidence. Which is clearly true, it's interesting how myths and rumors take a life on their own.

As someone who's lived in Europe for many years, both UK and Germany, illegal migration is a serious cultural tension point, deportation of people is also also what people want to see as evidenced by the large growth of populist parties. EU countries are now suspending freedom of movement specifically due to illegal migrants. Nigel Farage's Reform Party is significantly outpolling Labour, Denmark is incredibly hostile to illegal migrants and has effectively ended non EU immigration.

So this is a classic example of Europeans disliking Trump on one hand while basically doing some of the things he's doing, or trying to do. Most of the posts on here are just typical clueless internet bubble reinforcing each other's views and taking validity from unverified internet anecdotes about "family" and "friends."

Trump is indisputably unpopular in Europe and it's down to two key reasons: tariffs, and Ukraine. Though typical of Europeans their attitude towards the latter is a mess they dont want to deal with and would rather the US perpetually fund it, somehow, even though it is in their backyard, not ours. Those would be the reason for stopping travel to the US, however, I suspect much of that is driven by decline in corporate travel over tariffs more than anything else.

Many countries, including European ones, have issued travel warnings to the US regarding ICE detentions. Even if it only has happened a handful of times, it's scary to think that it could happen to you. They aren't just detaining you for 30min. You can be detained for days.

I think most people understand how elections work and that many people did not vote for their country’s current leader.

MAGAs are cowards! They would give up Alaska in a hot second.
