Do you see lingerie, makeup and heels as healthy or subjugation?

Men have little say in all this.

Women's beauty and fashion is mostly decided by women. Women adhere to them because we are social creatures and want to be liked by women and sometimes by men.

Another woman who agrees. Also I couldn’t help but note OP’s word “compete” in an earlier post. That’s a choice a woman makes to “beat” other women.

Woman are the ones perpetuating this behavior. Men would be fine with a woman wearing none of the items listed in the title.

Oh fetish poster. What about latex and urethra glasses?

No. Stop this nonsense. No one is forced to do anything these days.

I have vivid memories of my first (and only) 3-inch heels. I was running for a bus and fell flat on my face. That was many years ago and have only worn sensible heels since then.

As for make up, I confess that I would rather have that extra half-hour of sleep than putting on a ton of eye makeup. I use a bit of face powder and lipstick and I'm ready to face the day.

So, it's up to each woman how much she buys into what Madison Avenue has decreed how much make up women should use.

+1. Most men don’t notice haircuts, makeup, shoes, etc. They just notice if you look like you’re enjoying life or not. If you look happy, not one of them is going to care about your lack of heels.

A lot of women actually like these things. And their preference to enjoy such things is just as valid as one’s choice not to.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying feminine things. There’s nothing wrong with masculinity.

Honestly, the couples I know who obviously embrace such things seem to have the happiest marriages and the most sex (seem to go hand in hand).

Lol. Tell me you know nothing about the fashion/beauty industry without telling me you know nothing about it.

It puts you at disadvantage in professional, social and romantic realms. If men are seeing Barbie Dolls with plastic surgery, makeup, heels, sexy clothing everywhere, they see that as standard.

Back to prior poster: is that the kind of man you wish to attract?

This is false. They may not make specific note of your haircut or clothes, but everyone “notices” how you present yourself. Like, if a woman had greasy, stringy hair and wore rags, a man would notice. They don’t think “oh, I like how she contoured her cheeks today”, but it absolutely affects how you are perceived. I do “no makeup” makeup, and when I don’t do it, I’ve had partners ask me if I was feeling sick and my mother tells me I look so tired. I’m not extra ugly without makeup either.

The thing is, that beauty standards for women should be more natural (will never understand those gross false eyelashes or nails), but men need to step it up. As women take great care of their hair and skin, so too should men be getting a good haircut, using appropriate skincare, and taking some pride in their appearance. Heels, on the other hand, are simply stupid.

Definitely not. Don't change the subject because it doesn't suit your narrative.
