Woman are the ones perpetuating this behavior. Men would be fine with a woman wearing none of the items listed in the title.
+1. Most men don’t notice haircuts, makeup, shoes, etc. They just notice if you look like you’re enjoying life or not. If you look happy, not one of them is going to care about your lack of heels.
This is false. They may not make specific note of your haircut or clothes, but everyone “notices” how you present yourself. Like, if a woman had greasy, stringy hair and wore rags, a man would notice. They don’t think “oh, I like how she contoured her cheeks today”, but it absolutely affects how you are perceived. I do “no makeup” makeup, and when I don’t do it, I’ve had partners ask me if I was feeling sick and my mother tells me I look so tired. I’m not extra ugly without makeup either. The thing is, that beauty standards for women should be more natural (will never understand those gross false eyelashes or nails), but men need to step it up. As women take great care of their hair and skin, so too should men be getting a good haircut, using appropriate skincare, and taking some pride in their appearance. Heels, on the other hand, are simply stupid.
